The Beach Day Out Committee is looking for a couple of new committee members to join the fun in planning the 2026 Beach Day Out event! 🎉

What we are looking for:
- A commitment to attend 7x 1hour meetings between June and September
- Fresh ideas
- Committee members to head up the 'Amusements and Activities' sub committee and 'Community Volunteers' sub committee
- Beginners welcome (no event planning experience required)

What we offer:
- We work as a team and offer support
- The opportunity to contribute to bringing one of the community highlight days on the annual calendar to life

Come along to the 2026 Accessibility Awareness Tour, organised by 'Accessibility Capricornia

Accessibility Awareness Tour – Yeppoon Foreshore

Join Accessibility Capricornia for an Accessibility Awareness Tour of the Yeppoon Foreshore. Participants will have the opportunity to experience common access barriers by briefly immersing themselves into the world of disability, broaden their understanding of disability barriers, explore what works well, identify areas for improvement, and discuss ideas that could enhance access and inclusion along the foreshore.

The tour is designed to build awareness, encourage discussion, and provide an opportunity to hear a range of community perspectives on accessibility.

We particularly encourage people with lived experience of disability, as well as professionals involved in design, planning, building, landscaping and renovations, to attend. Bringing together lived experience and industry expertise can help foster a greater understanding of inclusive design and accessible communities.

This is more than building to standards, this is truely understanding user experiences which is equally important.
