Unfortunately due to the uncertainty of our lockdown, we have made the sad decision to cancel our performances this weekend. Ticket holders have been refunded, and we hope to see everyone at one of our other shows. All bookings made to see Off The Rails are risk-free as we will refund any that are cancelled due to continued or further restrictions.

Only a week til Off The Rails: The Invention!
On the 24th of July, we will have a kid-friendly matinee where there will be a mystery-not-involving-death, then a murder mystery in the evening for the adults.
To get you geared up, we’re introducing the cast in the lead up to the show. Today, let us introduce Mac Barrot.
Mac has been a member of the Murder Mystery on Puffing Billy since 2018 and is currently the director of the Murder Mystery team. He is stepping in as the Detective in the evening performance. Mac enjoys gardening, walks with his dog Piper and playing his two favourite warm up games at rehearsals, Bunny Bunny and Bippety Bippety Bop. Be sure to ask him how to play next time you see him around Emerald.
This murder mystery has twists and turns and allows the audience to become involved with each character to assist the detective to solve the crime.
Mac can’t wait until COVID 19 is somewhat under control and things can get back to normal (Whatever that is)

Only 10 days til Off The Rails: The Invention!

To get you geared up, we’re introducing the cast in the lead up to the show. Today, let us introduce Sarah Fernee.
Sarah is an author and performed playwright with a degree in Professional and Creative Writing. When not extracting words from her imagination for others enjoyment, or binging Netflix, she enjoys long walks with her grumpy dog and working ticketing for festivals and theatres. She is a ‘newbie’ to the Murder cast, having joined at the start of 2020, just before lockdown - one day she WILL perform on the train!! For the matinee show she will be playing Apprentice Jesse Dempsey, and for the evening performance she gets an upgrade and is a fully fledged Rival Inventor—though not a very good one!—as Charlie Chapel.

Josh is one of the newest and currently youngest members of the Murder cast. He was able to perform in his very first show with the us earlier this year, and is very excited to keep performing.
Josh will be playing the esteemed Frances Fitzgerald in the matinee performance, and reporter Perry Douglas in the evening performance.

Only 16 days til Off The Rails: The Invention!

To get you geared up, we’re introducing the cast in the lead up to the show. Today, let us introduce Rebecca Beer.
Rebecca has been a member of the Murder on the Puffing Billy Express cast since February 2020. She says, during the long Covid lockdown, continued rehearsals via Zoom provided much needed distraction and laughter as well as enabling her to get to know the diverse and talented “Murder gang” better. Also with GEMCO players, Rebecca enjoyed performing in the Autumn 2021 season of “Day out with Thomas” at Puffing Billy. “The interactive nature of children’s entertainment keeps you grounded and honest as a performer. Kids always know a fake when they see one,” she says. “I love that it’s about enjoying the performance with them, rather than performing at them or to them.”
Rebecca is looking forward to acting in some original work celebrating writers in the “Take 10 Writers’ Festival” later in the year.
She will be playing reporter Perry Douglas in the matinee performance, and Alex Fleming in the evening performance.

Only 22 days til Off The Rails: The Invention!
On the 24th of July, we will have a kid-friendly matinee where there will be a mystery-not-involving-death, then a murder mystery in the evening for the adults.
To get you geared up, we’re introducing the cast in the lead up to the show. Today, let us introduce Sam Hargreaves!
Sam has been a member of the Murder on the Puffing Billy Express cast since 2018. He is also the director of a short musical play that is performed as part of Puffing Billy Railway's Days Out with Thomas, also through Gemco Players.
Outside of Gemco, Sam is a comedian and performs regularly at various rooms around Melbourne. His one-man show, Billy vs the Internet, premiered at The Butterfly Club as part of the 2019 Melbourne Fringe.
Currently, Sam is rehearsing for Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria's upcoming production of The Gondoliers.

Sam will be playing the Detective in the matinee performance, we promise he won't look so sinister!
