Great Expectations
Is an oil painting of a nest kindly given to me by an artist friend Margaret Young.
Collected from Kinglake area and expanding to 45 cm it was probably home to a magpie or currawong family... I probably should have titled it "the big pavlova"

This painting is now on display at The Eltham Art Show The Rotary Eltham Art Show 2026 currently running from August 28 to September 6, 2026, at the Eltham Community & Reception Centre.

OUR FAMILY TREE

Palette knife and tiny brush marks have brought to life our beautiful tree outside our bedroom. These local feathered friends give us so much joy as you have seen in my MANY stories. I love birds!

Beautiful Life is a special painting i did for my Hayley and Nell. It's their dining area with some added pictures of their beautiful pets but missing their big boy cat..he'd take up the whole painting!
It was incredibly enjoyable and healing to paint this special one.

Its 92 cm square Oil on wood.

More nesty business.
I did a recent workshop on painting nests and these are the 2 that I worked on for instruction purposes.
They are on beautiful Arches paper 56 x 56 cm and off at the framers now.

I've been busy having fun in South Western Australia but came back and finished this nest. As usual, I have had fun creating these little homes.
My love for the beautiful birds that visit our home makes me feel very lucky indeed!
