At Pendulum Dance Competitions we believe dance is for everyone, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate dancers who inspire both on and off the stage. Last weekend we had the privilege of watching Annabelle perform, Annabelle is proudly sponsored by the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation (AAAF), a charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families living with alopecia while raising awareness of this autoimmune condition.
Through their incredible work AAAF provides support through initiatives such as camps, wig grants, educational resources and financial assistance, helping people of all ages navigate their alopecia journey with confidence.
For Annabelle, dance is simply something she loves, but it has also become a way to raise awareness and start conversations about alopecia. Her hope is that by stepping onto the stage just as she is, she might encourage others to give themselves permission to do the same.
Dance should be a place where everyone feels they belong, and we are proud to support the message that confidence comes from embracing who you are, not from fitting a mould.
We are honoured to have Annabelle as part of our dance community and proud to help shine a light on the wonderful work of AAAF.

Words cannot express how I’m forever grateful for the PDC community. A dance culture that is warm, welcoming, respectful, genuine and full of incredible dancers.
You have all made the hard work so worthwhile for another year.
To my volunteers and all the Shedley crew what a team I’m honoured to have you by my side. Without you it’s not possible.
Peta Markham-Ward you were amazing once again. Your adjudication was encouraging, educational and incredible words demonstrate your genuine passion for dance and the next generation.

From the bottom of my heart take care and look after yourselves and we will meet you again in 2027.
