First weekend of December.
It's now time to tell your work you've got a flat tyre/ feeling ill/ your dog needs love/ you're giving birth/getting married/getting unmarried/ you've been called up to defend the planet/ come down with an allergic reaction to your work mates and you wont be in on the the 4th, with full recovery and return on the 8th. It's a real bu**er, but not much can be done except some fresh country air and potentially a mate or two to help you through this.

We are totally willing to write a note to your mum or to take with you on the Tuesday. Ol' boss will understand. And please remember to take a wet cloth to wipe the smile off your face.

We really want to hear from anyone who has ever played before with old or new acts you are in. Its' a festival, its a big party and we'd love to get all the homies to bring the band back together!
We are definitely having something happen to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1st festival in 1996 over 5-7 December. If we get super hassels then it will be a private 30th birthday party for Frankie R Love.

We do aim much higher though. Paper work has been lodged and due to a change of people at the top of CFA we are told the default position is now YES events can happen.

We are confident enough that we can also announce that we are planning to have at least 4 single day events as well as the festival. We are looking at starting in September, possibly on grandfinal day, October and November and further shows in the glorious autumn 2027.

This post is not a formal announcement, but a this is what we are going for type of thing.. Its about starting to put the line up together. Its about letting you know that if you know, well you know.

Now that we have passed the longest night of the year and heading back to longer days, it’s a good time to think about what’s ahead of us.

We are super pleased to say that with a change in personnel in the office of CFA D 23, dialogue and actual conversation has resumed around Bilyana gigs.

There’s a very good chance that we will have one night ( sort of) gigs in September, October and November, all in warm up for the 30 th anniversary of the first FRL way back in 1996.

To everyone that has been a part of our history, who has come, volunteered, played, been inspired, been inspiring, to those who made and broke relationships here, all the kids conceived here, we would really like to invite you back!

For all of the awesome friends who have come to the last two parties we have had, now is a good time to word up your mates who have never been.

Thing is, the culture and community of our events really are a massive part of who we are and how we do things. So to keep it together, we really do hope that the word of mouth between friends, family, work mates and old homies dominates over random spray marketing. If you know about us, love being here and have that feeling of being home when you dance at Bilyana, please do your darndest to bring two new people each. We can certainly handle a coupla thousand folks, but equally happy with 500 - as long we we get good eggs coming along. Quality of people over turn over wins every day.

There is a bit to be done with the council to formally announce gigs, but the first weekend of December shall be done, even if it is just a 30 th birthday party for Frankie R Love. Stay tuned.

Lastly to get all parties off our back we are investing quite a wad, like $50k in a new 130 KL water tank, a ring of fire hose reels and some rather large sprinklers to keep a green belt of grass to assure everyone safety should a fire ever approach the property. To that end, we really could do with some help as the grants we received are to assist paying for loads of acts, helping with production and to improve and increase our site for accessibility needs. We can’t use it for the sprinkler system per se.

If you want to help, play, attend working bees, make a donation for the fire system, work the event then send some love, send a message and look out for formal links, ticket announcements and crowd funding if we get to it.

Lastly, a massive amount of love to Vern Hardie, who has faced some incredible health challenges this year. Vern has facilitated our workshops and been a fantastic person here for years. Vern is sharing some of his struggles so touch base and send him power. We hope he is well enough to return home here later in the year

Gday from Bilyana. We hope you've had a good Easter out an' about.
We have some news

~Working bee coming up
~Gig coming up
~Meetings with CFA

We would like to invite a few people to come up, give us a hand, and camp next week, the second week of the school holidays.
We are planning a working bee to get a few things done.. It is not a gig at all next week
If you want to camp for a few nights next week come on up.
The loos are open but you will need to look after yourselves with food. We can make space with a few BBQs and we will also have the pizza oven. Quite happy for people to to eat together too - just depends on how many people come up.

You can do your own thing as well - although we would love a hand doing a few things getting hands dirty

Some track erosion control
chucking stuff in a skip
Some fencing
Preparation and painting of shipping container office
Some planting and garden maintenance / creation of wicking beds.

We will also be testing out our new PA we have bought on the Friday 17th. So defo come together on the Friday night with a few bevvies to thank people for the work done. People will need to leave by midday Sat 18th as Bilyana is booked for a particularly private function.

We are working towards a one day gig on May 16. A pre Winter warm up if you will. It will be in a marquee next to the creek stage, awesome tunes, fire barrels, great tucka, good people and nice and cosy - around 500 people, quite similar to the private parties we have been having..

We have seen quite some movement from the CFA. District 23 visited the site for the first time in years and are returning to the default position of yes and work together to ensure the risks have appropriate mitigations ( as we always have had). We are working hard right now to get clarity from all parties that events can happen here during the fire danger period as long as the actual fire risk is appropriate.

The future is good my friends, hence time for spruce up, get the PA going and share how absolutely stunning Bilyana is in Autumn.

We have full intention of having at least four single night concerts and at least one multi day event. We are certainly aiming for the first weekend of December this is the 30th anniversary of the inspirational first festival in 1996..
