🚗🐶 NEWS FOR THE 2027 DAY OF THE DACKEL!-18 April 2027
We're looking for German-made vintage and classic cars or motorcycles to be part of next year's event! 🎉
Numbers will be limited to just 5 or 6 vehicles, so if you own something special, we'd love to hear from you. ⭐
These vehicles will form a unique German motoring display to complement our dachshund theme. 🐾 We're also planning a fun cruise to Lakeside Living, with dachshunds riding along as special passengers! 🚗🐶 (Stay tuned for more details!)
We're excited to confirm that Sue & Bill Sandeman, along with dachshund Tess from Portland, will be bringing their incredible 1960 Messerschmitt. 🤩
The Messerschmitt is a fascinating German-built three-wheeled microcar, designed by aircraft engineer Fritz Fend and manufactured by the German aircraft company Messerschmitt between 1955 and 1964. ✈️🚘
We can't wait to see this unique little vehicle as part of the 2027 Day of the Dackel! 🐾🎉

See you all at the Edenhope meet & greet at the rear of Lake Wallace Hotel from 11am this morning! We have a mini market with some PAWsome dachshund and dog products and crafty goods. Grab lunch at the Lake Wallace Hotel and come dine with the dachshunds!!!!!!

Tomorrow is World Dachshund Day!!!!
1000s of dachshunds and their humans will gather at one of the 100s of events happing world wide! Not to be left out, we are hosting a mini market & meet & greet in the beer garden at the Lake Wallace Hotel from 11am til 1pm! 😀

🐾📢 Important Announcement 📢🐾

The Dachshund Museum will be temporarily closing from 30 June 2026 for some much-needed renovations. 🏠🔨
We're saying goodbye to the old carpet and replacing it with something much more practical for our four-legged visitors 🐶🐾, their humans 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, and those occasional little puddles that need cleaning up! 😊
At this stage, we're not sure exactly when we'll reopen, but we can assure everyone that the museum will be back in action before the 2027 Day of the Dackel celebration. 🎉🌭🐕
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we make these improvements. We look forward to welcoming you all back to an even better Dachshund Museum! ❤️🐾
