NAIDOC Week (7-14 July) is one of the most significant cultural events for Australia, as it enables us to come together, as leaders of diversity and inclusion, to share in the collective knowledge and experiences of First Nations peoples.

🎨 This week at the Thrive Films and Art program, our participants wanted to celebrate NAIDOC week by trying their creative skills (and patience) at the beautiful art of Dot Painting. 🎨

✅ This year’s theme, “Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud,” is about celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity, a shared commitment to justice and equality, and fully valuing and respecting First Nations Peoples voices.
✅ This includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders with disabilities. Our company, Thrive Support Services, have several participants who are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with a disability. Let’s open up a communication stream and help support those with disabilities. And let’s NOT discriminate.

We pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of this land, and acknowledge all Elders past, present and emerging. We respect the special relationship and connection that First Nations people have to the land, the waterways, the skies and all the creatures who live here.
