LAST DAY TODAY 🫢🤩😄🤯

The exhibition “Line of Sight’ is in its final hours and will close today Saturday 5th August at 4 pm.

I am in the gallery all day today, so it is the last chance to come have a chat, or to indeed make one of our paintings yours. With Art Money you only have to pay 10% upfront. The rest you can pay over the next 9 months, interest free!

We have some expressive bursts of colour by and some tranquil compositions by and a good chunk of my “Constructions” series on the walls. Something for every taste, I’d say!

When I started to work with my “Construction” series, I worked with the colour blue a lot (really, a lot!) As I was changing a lot of things in my art practice (and my life in general) at the same time, I decided to stick to a limited colour palette. (Let’s not do too many new things all at once, right?)

Check out my new Journal entry for a selection of 🔹blue🔹 artworks, and to learn more about my how and why. ☺️

I was always fascinated by the Australian Outback and the rich red colour of the soil and rocks. I had never travelled to Australia before coming to Perth to study and soon to settle down, but I had seen numerous documentaries about the country, it’s landscape and it’s animal life. (Crocodile Hunter was in fact one of my favourite TV-shows when I was a kid.)

So after moving to Australia, it was inevitable to be inspired by or indeed influenced by this wonderful landscape in one way or other.

Read my new Journal entry to see some of my red artworks.

I was nominated for the Arts Award at the Western Australian Multicultural Awards 2023, and the ceremony was held last night at the Ritz Carlton in Perth. I did not win, but it was thrilling to be there, and to see my name on the screen and in the brochure 🤩

Thank you Henrietta Podgorska for nominating me, and for all the love and support that goes behind such an act 🙏

Congratulations to all the nominees and winners of the night, and to the Office Of Multicultural Interests team for another amazing award night! You're all stars 🌟

As a watercolour artist, I've experimented with various types of materials throughout my career. But there's one discovery that truly felt like finding a missing piece in the puzzle 🧩

St Cuthberts Mill

As a watercolour artist, I've experimented with various types of watercolour paper throughout my career. However, there's one paper that stands out to me above the rest: Saunders Waterford watercolour paper with deckle edges.

I have started a new project. It is too soon to say more about it, but I like where it’s going so far 🤫 So here’s a little sneak peak on what’s currently on the table (literally. The paper is taped down on top of a table.) I am using Lamp Black and Payne’s Gray watercolours for the first layer and then the plan is to switch to ink before I add some colourful details using *biiiiiiip* and *biiiiiiiip* 😅 (sensored as these details are to be revealed later….)

This artwork, Construction 18, has been exhibited twice! First in a solo-exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai) in November 2018 as part of Australia Fest 2018 - 2019, and second as part of the very first issue of the Reclaim Collection by The Artful Collective.

It is 75 cm wide and 55 cm high, and is made of graphite, gouache and watercolour on the best quality watercolour paper I have been able to find.
