Fantastic disability representation at Sundance this year!

Several films feature disability in the plot, including 892, 75,000, Cha Cha Real Smooth, Chilly and Milly, I Didn't See You There, and Sharp Stick.

The City of Swan is taking expressions of interest for their new Global Village Multicultural Film Festival! The Festival is a celebration of cultural diversity and is looking for applicants to put on programs that share this message. It could be a short. a feature, a workshop, or any artistic program that showcases cultural and linguistical diversity in film!

Expressions of interest need to describe in some detail the film or activity that is taking place, and must be submitted before 5pm on Friday the 23rd of July.

🎥Calling all WA First Nations film creatives!🎥

Submissions are now open for the Deutsche Bank Fellowship, a new grant for Australian First Nations film creatives launched by Sydney Film Festival and Deutsche Bank.

The winning Fellow will be awarded a $20,000 grant to further develop their skills through professional development, industry placement, or other opportunities including international placement when possible.

Are you a mid-career Indigenous filmmaker interested in expanding your skills and experience in documentary and factual?

The Indigenous Documentary Placement is a new initiative designed to provide one mid-career Indigenous practitioner with a unique opportunity to undertake an extended placement with Australia’s largest public broadcaster, the ABC, and the award-winning production company, Northern Pictures. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a mid-career Indigenous practitioner to further elevate their skills in documentary, factual development and production within the context of both a public broadcaster and a production company. The successful candidate will undertake a 6-8 month placement across both organisations in Sydney commencing on May 24 2021. Travel support will be provided if the successful candidate is relocating from another state.
