'The Welcome choir' is a lively, open, friendly, all genders, all ages singing group in Newtown and, Gosford for people of all singing abilities. We are focused on the uplifting, joyful experience of being surrounded by other voices, singing pop music in beautiful harmony. The FunHaus Factory in Gosford is on the Last Thursday of every month but there’s no pressure to attend. At the start of each session, you will learn how to control your voice through vocal and breathing techniques and have plenty of fun along the way. The welcome choir is led by the talented and experienced Bek Jensen, a professional singer and singing teacher with many years of experience leading choirs. Choir members have the opportunity to put forward song ideas, sing solo parts and make suggestions along the way – an equally rewarding experience for both complete beginners, and accomplished singers. Joining the choir is a great way to make new friends while expressing yourself through the music. The Welcome Choir would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the traditional owners of the land on which we meet. It is upon their ancestral lands that The Welcome Choir gather and sing. As we share our voices and spirits through song, may we also pay respect to the songs embedded forever within the Aboriginal Custodianship of Country.
