This week has been packed full of new collaborations, connections and inspirations 💚

This is Sue Wildcard-Sue Artist, another Inner West artist I've had the privilege to meet whilst here for
Sue predominantly creates gorgeous marine illustrations, is a writer and educator AND happens to have the most eclectic garden ever! Today we shared some insights with each other about our creative practices, and then curated the leaf prizes for tomorrow's hunt, straight from Sue's amazing collection of plants! She also happened to have a light box so I went a bit crazy taking photos of them all because honestly, these are the best leaf prizes we've collected in four years, and you get to take one of them home tomorrow after completing Public Art Treasure Hunt. It's all too exciting. See you from 12-5pm at Sydenham Green for Hunting and LEAVES! 🍂 🍃🍁🍂🍃🍂🍁🍁🍃🍁

One of my favourite moments from art scouting this week ❤

Melinda and I were out finding more gems to add to Saturday's Treasure Hunt when we came across , an art space dedicated to Chinese art headed by the passionate Jack Zhang. We were checking out a piece of repurposed sandstone outside his gallery that has been carved and painted with Chinese characters, wondering what it was all about when Jack appeared and eagerly ushered us in for a tour and some history. Turns out the sandstone had been dumped on the side of the road so Jack and his acclaimed art master Wu Shan Ming turned it into this groovy piece of art in 2016.

We don't usually make labels for actual art, but this one felt pretty special so there will be one lucky person who gets to add a label to Jack's artwork tomorrow. It could be you!

This is Debbie , another fabulous Inner West based artist joining us in Sydney for this week. Debbie is a creative hand of many trades: she's a clown, theatre performer and producer, visual artist, graphic designer and is currently working for The House That Dan Built as a Creative Producer. As our projects have grown bigger over the last six months, so has our team! We've been collaborating with, sharing with and learning from new creatives who have jumped on board to help us create and deliver Public Art funsies. More PeopleLab artists means more events for you (and some rest for us!), and it also means brand new perspectives and fresh approaches.
