We had yet again a fund raiser yesterday at BUNNINGS DURAL a sausage sizzle!!

We are thankful .au for giving us these opportunities to give back to the community.

According to Bunnings, the sausage sizzle program has been operating for more than 25 years, and community fundraising activities have helped raise tens of millions of dollars for local groups across Australia and New Zealand.

Provides access to large crowds, Bunnings stores attract thousands of shoppers each weekend, giving community groups a fundraising opportunity they might not otherwise have.

Supports local causes, Our funds raised often go directly back into local communities through raising awareness programs, mental health initiatives, welfare services, domestic violence, emergency relief, and other grassroots initiatives.

In short, the BBQ sizzle isn't just about selling sausages -it acts as a fundraising platform that helps local organizations generate money, recruit volunteers, and stay connected with their communities.

Tamil women's development group sisters attended an event "Women of influence" hosted by the Australian Tamil Chamber of Commerce.

An event that highlighted women in business and women in the community -how they face the many challenges and struggles.
How they overcome these obstacles and shine bright while influencing more women to be as strong as them.

If possible donate blood and save lives

Donating blood is a safe way to help patients who need transfusions for surgery, trauma care, cancer treatment, childbirth complications, and many other medical conditions.

In Australia, the main blood donation service is lifeblood.com.au

Basic eligibility -You can usually donate whole blood if you:

Are generally healthy
Meet minimum age and weight requirements
Have enough iron/haemoglobin levels
Have not recently had certain illnesses, tattoos, piercings, or overseas travel that require waiting periods

Eligibility rules can vary, so the official eligibility checker is useful:

Types of donation

Whole blood — most common; takes about 10–15 minutes for the actual donation
Plasma donation — longer session, often around 45 minutes
Platelet donation — used for cancer and critical care patients.

*Eat a healthy meal beforehand

10 October 2025 marks World Mental Health Day for this year.

World Mental Health Day is a vital reminder of the importance of mental well-being for everyone, everywhere.

Observed on October 10th each year, it aims to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and advocate for better access to mental health care.

Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet it is often overlooked or misunderstood.

This day encourages open conversations, compassion, and support for those who may be struggling in silence.

Let us use this opportunity to educate ourselves, check in on loved ones, and push for a world where mental health is prioritized, supported, and respected.

It was a very important day for us at TWDG, when all our sisters contributed in various ways to bring together our community in our small way. It was teamwork.

This was our contribution to our family and friends this year; our little way of thanking those who have helped us contribute and give back to society.

Special mention to Jega Kanthan who has a creative flair for vegetable carving. She showcased three of her creations at our event.

We took pics of all our ladies getting busy cooking, baking, organising and putting together this wonderful event this year among many other challenges faced by some of our sisters.
