MON JUNE 15 from 7pm TOBY MARTIN & FRIENDS WINTER RESIDENCY AT BUTCHERS BREW BAR: EVENT2 'LOVE'S SHADOW' W/ WAYNE CONNOLLY ππ€π€πΈπΉ
βοΈ TOBY MARTIN is a singer, songwriter & frontman of the beloved indie rock band Youth Group. Over the course of nine albums, Toby has established himself as one of Australiaβs most distinctive & adventurous songwriters, combining a plaintive melodic sensibility with finely observed & deeply felt lyrics. Recent records Songs From Northam Avenue & I Felt the Valley Lifting set detailed stories to a backdrop provided by musicians from different cultural backgrounds. His most recent records are 2024βs Song KhΓΊc Lượn Bay (Two Sounds Gliding) a collaboration with Vietnamese-Australian musician Dang Lan & the 2025 album from Youth Group Big Whoop (which was feature album on ABCβs Double J). He is also a co-songwriter & collaborator on the new Uncle Roger Knox record Buluunarbi & the Old North Star. Toby has won an ARIA & toured the world, including performing at Coachella, Reading & Leeds Festival, Laneway & Splendour in the Grass.
This special intimate June residency will see Toby bring it all back home to Dulwich Hill. He will play a different album from his back catalogue every week in stripped back solo mode (with a few choice cameos) plus some other deep cuts, new songs & select covers.
βοΈ WAYNE CONNOLLY is an Australian music producer, audio engineer & musician. From 1991 to 1997 Connolly played lead guitar and sang in guitar group The Welcome Mate & released two studio albums. Since 1994, he has played in Knievel with Tracy Ellis, Nick Kennedy & other luminaries. Wayne has produced music with Josh Pyke, The Paper Kites, Julia Jacklin, You Am I, Underground Lovers & Youth Group. He has won four ARIAs.

βοΈ BRIELLE is an independent musician with a psych-folk-rock flair. Their songs weave a rich tapestry out of all the little oddities that life offers up. Combining their love of storytelling & absurdist lyrics, Brielle creates a hazy atmosphere that puts audiences in a trance.
βοΈ HYLA DAY feels too much all the time, but she writes it down before it turns into a problem. Her melodic alt-pop pulls apart obsession, perfectionism, wanting to be wanted & the strange theatre of trying to belong. Somewhere between crying in the bath & dancing it off at the club, Hyla turns big feelings into music that feels sharp & very much alive.

βοΈ MARLENA (she/her) is a Sydney-based singer/ songwriter who writes heartfelt songs about nature, strife & hope. Her nostalgic & dream-like music with raw, personal ballads uses indie/ folk style vocals, self-accompanied with guitar & piano.
βοΈ TED KRABMAN (he/him) has been sharing his unique style of earnest confessional lyricism with the Sydney scene for the last few years, often playing intimate solo shows. With fingerpicked folk guitar & echoes of 60s pop, Tedβs melodic compositions explore the small & large experiences of the every day.
βοΈ EVA DIANA's music (she/her) is a mix of pop, folk & singer-songwriter genres. She is heavily influenced by the US Americana scene, combining country & rock to tell unique stories. Currently based in Sydney, Eva Diana released her debut EP, You Donβt Need To Fix It, late last year.
