SARAH BELKNER is back at Butchers Brew by popular demand with the 3rd instalment of her residency, bringing together community, songs & stories. Each Monday in September Sarah will be bringing her unique existential indie singer-songwriter vibes to Butchers Brew, teaming up with a different great local artist each week. Together they bring a residency filled with old songs, brand new songs, stories & a sing along or two for everyone to enjoy. The artists coming along are the incredible LEROY LEE, HUCK HASTINGS, SAM BUCKINGHAM & EMMA JONES. Each week is its own adventure & a great way to warm the heart at the start of the week.
First cab off the rank is the wonderful gem of a musician ⭐️ LEROY LEE, an enchanting songsmith & guitarist who creates intimate & hypnotic, lamp-lit songs with his intricate & innovative guitar playing. Sarah first met Leroy years ago & had forgotten what a beautiful songsmith & guitar wielder he was until they recently did a show together at the Mitch in Alexandria. She asked him to open the residency & he said yes. Lucky you.

Her Ep ‘Humans’ (2015) & two albums ‘But You Are, But It Has’ (2017) & ‘The Apple’ (2023) have seen her gain accolades such as Double J album of the week, a song featured in the hit series ‘Offspring’ & performances at The Great Escape UK, as well as supporting artists including Sarah Blasko, Lisa Mitchell & The Veils.
She has become a revered touring musician/ MD performing with many great artists including Missy Higgins, Neil Finn & Tim Minchin.She has also sat in the producers seat for the likes of Missy Higgins, Brendan Maclean & Leah Flanagan.

It's my absolute honour to invite you to my show celebrating the release of my debut independent album titled, 'LIMBO' This body of work is a culmination of my experiences with love, loss, grief, hardship & growth. It's marked by four years of production & an ocean of meticulous effort. It is an intimate yet expansive body of work, of which I am incredibly proud. Limbo is supported by ArtsACT & produced by Kiah Gossner, & mastered by Steve Smart at Studios 301. This will be the first time I have ever brought the Eden Plenty project to Gadigal land. Sarah has always been enamoured with ⭐️ HUCK HASTINGS for being a true wordsmith with a gift for delivering heartfelt kitchen sink meaning at the drop of a hat. Huck embodies the sentiment of the indie songwriter greats whilst still being completely unique in a way no one else in Australia can do.
Huck has steadily carved out their place as one of Australia’s most affecting indie-pop voices on the local scene. Their 2021 debut album Cheers to Progress was featured in NME & Junkee, amassing 800k+ streams & selling out its first vinyl run.
Since then, they have remained prolific, releasing singles with side-projects Hacky Sack & Hollow States (both landing among FBi Radio’s most-played), sharing The Clincher (premiered on triple j Unearthed), & supporting artists including The Buoys, Phoebe Go, Andy Bull & Bec Sandridge.
In 2023 they were handpicked by Troye Sivan & Lucas Keller for APRA’s Pride Songhubs, where they co-wrote with Montaigne, Vetta Borne, Flowerkid, Charley, Alex The Astronaut, Luca George & June Jones.
Following the rotation of their single Hold It Against Me on FBi Radio, Hastings reunited with producer/ multi-instrumentalist mmilton (Arne Utiger, Velvet Trip) for the tender new track Everything is Boring (Without You). The release arrives on the back of singles ‘Easy V1’ & their Nova-premiered feature with PEPTALK
In late 2025 Huck joined as the opening act for Ben Lee’s 20th Anniversary Awake is the New Sleep national tour, & was invited back for 9 dates of the Ben Lee on Tour Always rural run in early 2026.
