This July, Wesley House Players invites Dubbo audiences to experience "Dracula, a feminist revenge fantasy, really" by Kate Hamill.

Darkly funny, thrilling, unsettling and unlike any version of Dracula you’ve seen before, this bold reimagining of the classic tale asks a simple question: when your survival is at stake, can you tell the monster from the man?

After months of preparation, this talented Dubbo cast is bringing Kate Hamill's wildly inventive reimagining of Dracula to the Wesley House Players stage this July.

Forget everything you think you know about the classic vampire tale.

Packed with horror, humour, chaos and bite, this fast-paced adaptation turns Bram Stoker's famous story on its head. Darkly comic, bold and bloody satisfying, it blurs the line between monster and man while exposing the absurdity of power, ego and manipulation.

With gender-bending twists, haunting atmosphere and Hamill's signature irreverent style, this is a fresh, ferocious and wildly entertaining take on one of literature's most enduring villains.

Congratulations to Dubbo Theatre Company for their current production of "Come from Away".
Make sure you go and see it either this weekend or next Friday and Saturday.
It has a stellar case of seasoned performers, a bit of a tear-jerker in some sections, so take a tissue (mainly thanks to the wonderful Sarah Drake and her character) but there are quite a few laughs along the way. The cast have done a great job with a minimal set and lots of moving pieces (chairs, chairs chairs and more chairs to move). Standout performances from Ellissa Burden, John Gibson, Danielle Forster and Greg Marwick, having said that it's a really strong ensemble cast.
And what about that Band, so good to see a live band return to Dubbo Theatre Company and how exceptional is it. GREAT JOB TO ALL.
"Come from Away" is based on a true story.
