Our friends down the hill at CHATS Productions Inc. have this exciting production coming up in October!

It Runs in the Family - If you are a leading surgeon in London’s most prestigious hospital, delivering the “Lecture of the Year” to two hundred of the world’s leading neurologists, the last thing you want is a mistress from 18 years ago arriving unexpectedly.

Just as Dr Mortimore is preparing for his big moment, Jane Tate, a former nurse and long-forgotten romantic fling, turns up and drops a bombshell: that their brief affair produced a child, now 18, who is currently in the hospital looking for his father.

Dr Mortimore, desperate to protect his reputation, tries to hide the truth. But in true Cooney fashion, every outrageous lie spawns three more, and the situation spirals into a whirlwind of mistaken identities, slamming doors, and frantic improvisation.

Typical madcap complications ensue, involving faithful friend, Dr. Bonney, a police sergeant, Dr. Mortimore’s wife, a severe hospital matron, Dr. Bonney’s mother and a patient who makes the most of being dragged into the whole maelstrom.

OPENING NIGHT
Tomorrow evening 'SHE' opens at Dorrigo's Old Gazette Theatre so in the morning we head up the mountain and as a community based theatre company, we are very proud of what we contribute when we hit town.
Because we are also presenting a matinee on Sunday, we are staying overnight, so we contribute to the local economy through accommodation and meals. (Injecting around $2,000 into the town.)
We have asked the CWA to cater during interval so that they gain income.
We are profit sharing with the theatre.
As a company, we support Mid North Coast playwrights because we only use locally written scripts.

We are delighted to announce that the Wyz Wimmin & Friends Theatre Company is returning to the Gazette with their brand-new show ‘She’.

A mixture of monologues and plays that range from drama, through dark comedy and social commentary, the six pieces include a one-act play. and a collection of three intersecting monologues that when brought together, create a play with the three scenes.

On stage at 7.00 pm on Saturday 8th August and at 2.00 pm on Sunday 9th August, tickets are $30 and can be booked online at wyzwimmin.org.au

Door sales are dependent on tickets not selling out online, so to be sure you get a ticket, don’t rely on buying at the door.

The Wyz Wimmin & Friends production 'SHE'
On Sunday I was at the rehearsal for 'Home & Away' which is the monologue collection that comes together as a play with three scenes, and when the the characters took their bow, I had goosebumps. I think 'Home & Away' is the best writing of my life and I am so grateful to the director and actresses for their superbly nuanced performance.
'Home & Away' is preceded by several monologues, and the second half of the program includes 'Besties', a one-act play, plus another highly original monologue.
We hope you will join us at one of our performances and in this shivery weather what better place to be than in a warm theatre watching top of the range performances?

I'm Cara Shaw and the Director of The Bellingen Theatre Troupe's new production, The Turquoise Elephant by Stephen Carleton, a climate change satire to be performed at the Bellingen Memorial Theatre in March 2027!

One of our actors has become unavailable, and we urgently require a female actor 20 to 40, to play Basra Macquarie, Vlogger and Climate Activist (pretty hip).
