POX-ECLIPSE

POX-ECLIPSE Australia's first major wastelander event. October 2026 | Somewhere, WA My life fades. The vision dims. All that remains are memories. Their world crumbled.

I remember a time of chaos, ruined dreams; this wasted land. The world was once powered by the black fuel and the desert sprouted great cities of pipe and steel; gone now, swept away. For reasons long forgotten, two mighty warrior tribes went to war and touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without fuel they were nothing. They had built a house of straw. The thundering machines sputtered an

d stopped. Their leaders talked and talked and talked, but nothing could stem the avalanche. Cities exploded; a whirlwind of looting, a firestorm of fear. Men began to feed on men. On the roads it was a white-line nightmare. Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice, and in this maelstrom of decay, ordinary people were battered and smashed; people like you, the survivor. You wandered out into the wasteland. And it was here, in this blighted place, that you learned to live again…

POX-ECLIPSE is Australia’s first major Wastelander event. Inspired by the extremely influential and impactful ‘MAD MAX’ films created by George Miller and Byron Kennedy. POX-ECLIPSE is a community-built event. Participants are invited to start a CLAN within the walls of POX-ECLIPSE. Bring a vehicle and become a part of our Black Thumb quarter or take a place as a trader in Barter Town. Perhaps you like to perform and want to share your special skill with the community? All of these options can be applied for through our ‘participate’ page. You may also want to camp in General Camping, outside of the walls of POX-ECLIPSE and enter each day just as if you were wandering into the town from the wastelands.

Tonight is a very sad night for POX-ECLIPSE.

We are equally shocked and devastated to learn of the passing of a very long standing community member.

Greg, AKA trash was truly a lord of the Wasteland and the KING of The Citadel.

Trash was always there to lend a hand, kindness and/or chaos and was truly the type of breed to survive in the wastes of POX-ECLIPSE.

Whether it was a late night drink by the fire or absolute f**kery amongst the dusty revelry, Trash was only a couple of steps away in some direction.

We WITNESS you on your journey to Valhalla my good friend, you will leave a large void that will never again be filled.

Shiny and Crome mate…Shiny and Chrome!⭐️

The Wasteland of POX-ECLIPSE, will always be that Wasteland, because it’s the community that creates it so.

A query from a concerned punter about why they should have to pay a fee to attend the event if there is no bar.

I am putting it here because we’ve had two such queries and this may help any others with questions.

Continued from previous questions:

I appreciate your response ..

I LOVE the idea of POX and have never enjoyed such a massive vibe and experience, hence saddened by the ‘real’ money being allowed In the ‘POX environment’..

•as it says on the website, we would prefer people bring barter items and gifts, but some markets and potentially merch will require old world money - I would prefer caps myself, however - reasons below.

I’m here for it.. sadly more than anyone knows.. I just had to query..

•your queries should now be answered.

•caps mean stall which means volunteers, we have stuff all volunteers.
Caps mean POS, and cash transfers = POS terminal fees.

BYO could have possibly been the last 2 years for a lot of person/s if I’m honest ..

•Yes, and that is part of the problem, we say no BYO. People bring BYO, bar makes less money, security costs end up costing more than the bar. ‘No bar’ is because it’s not supported correctly by the community. Logistics of building and stocking a bar as well as rostering volunteers and running power and ice is not worth it if the bar does not help cover costs.

but u don’t have to convince me I’m down…
Generators we had from last year..

•We Pay hire for generators that run theme camps, stage, bar, lights etc - previously we paid Coates hire, then we paid SX Shire and now we pay Pete the property owner.

The site well.. umm …

•yes, beyond ‘PROTO-POX’ we have always paid for a site as they contain infrastructure. If people are willing to properly be radically self reliant and take their faeces with them - I would be happy enough to go FULL wasteland, HBU?

Social media that is just time and awareness you dont need to market etc as u dont want the wrong person/s and crowd let in…

•No…We pay for a website, domain, Mailchimp, Google workspace, Canva , ticketing sites, POS fees and graphics, not to mention all the other things that go along with the event like wristbands and swag which is given for free to volunteers, even caps cost quite a bit of money every year add on top of that the personal time that Oly and myself invest into making it all happen on socials and ticketing.

As for the stage..
we can play on the ground?? We don’t need a stage ..

•that would be lovely if other bands agreed with your opinion, but bands like having a stage. You argue that no thunderdome would suck yet you say no stage would not suck?

As for fuel.. we are in a cost of living crisis if I’m driving 2 hours + don’t worry about fuel..

•the biggest cost of fuel is generators. Personally, Loz, myself and Oly make about 10trips to site during the year in the lead up to and after the event - that’s 3000kms we spend beyond a punter heading to site and back and we pay for that personally.

I’ve seen peeps coming from the east for this event..

•yes, because they enjoy the event, not sure what your argument is here-it’s not a cost we wear (fuel for travellers). We travel to Silverton for their event (Mad Max Reunion) as well but we don’t take issue with their event costs.

anyway sorry for wasting ur Saturday night .. 🫪✌🏻
Hipe to see u there because I like the show..

•I like the show also, last year we were 8k in debt-this will be the last show at least for a good while because of that.- thanks for your support.

Well…it’s happening.

The desolation rises to greet the disenfranchised and disillusioned…such is the deal when you face the wheel in the wasteland!

The website is updated, things are a bit different, weird and mysterious…maybe some semblance of civilisation, maybe not. Whatever it is, there will be dust and true grit!

Help us send POX-ECLIPSE home….until we meet again.

RIP to the Ayatollah of Rock’n’Rolla!

Lord Humungous has left the wasteland.

*Posted on his Facebook today:

"GREETINGS FROM THE FAMILY OF HUMUNGUS, THE LORD HUMUNGUS"

As many of you know, Kjell had been battling end-stage kidney disease for the past four and a half years, receiving dialysis three days a week.

It was a long and painful journey, filled with countless battles to overcome, including the gradual loss of his bodily autonomy.

This past Sunday, after much consideration, Kjell made the decision to take back control over his pain and his body by stopping dialysis.

On Thursday, Torsdag (Thor’s Day), July 2, Kjell passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his sons.

The days leading up to his passing were filled with joy, gratitude, peace, and acceptance. He did it his way.

Back in 2022, many medical professionals told Kjell that he would never make it to his first Christmas after kidney failure. He proved them wrong. He celebrated four more Christmases, giving him four precious extra years with the people he loved most.

Unfortunately, a kidney transplant was never an option. Forty years ago, severe blood clotting in his legs left him without the major arteries needed for adequate blood flow. Over the course of five major operations spanning 45 hours, doctors gave him an ultimatum: become a double amputee, or keep his legs knowing they would have compromised function and severe cramping for the rest of his life.

Against medical advice, Kjell chose to keep his legs.

Through relentless weight training, determination, and sheer force of will, he forced blood through the remaining network of tiny capillaries, achieving what many believed to be impossible. He proved the experts wrong until he was strong enough to "JUST WALK AWAY"

Even in his final days, many doctors could not fully explain how he had done it. Some referred to him as a walking miracle.

But it wasn’t a miracle.

It was unrelenting determination, self-belief, and extraordinary willpower.

That mindset didn’t just overcome the impossible, it gave Kjell more than four decades of life that he might otherwise never have had. More importantly, it gave him the chance to continue raising his five sons, whom he loved beyond words, and who loved him just as deeply.

In his final days, Kjell spoke often of how grateful he was for his bodybuilding and coaching career, for the life he built between the two countries he called home, Sweden and Australia, and for the opportunity to inspire and connect with people around the world through his iconic role as The Lord Humungus.

That legacy will never die.

“BE STILL, MY DOGS OF WAR… WE HAVE ALL LOST SOMEONE WE HAVE LOVED… BUT WE DO IT MY WAY. WE DO IT MY WAY.”

Kjell lived a colourful life on his own terms, with unwavering conviction, an adventurous heart, and a spirit that refused to surrender.

To all of his friends, fans, clients, and family: thank you. You made his life richer and fuller than you could ever know.

A ceremony will be held to honour his memory. The time, date, and location will be announced in due course.

With love and gratitude,

The Nilsson Family
