We are pleased to be joining Threads of Love as part of Double Seventh Cultural Week at Creative Asia Art Centre, World Trade Centre Melbourne.
The ROMULUS Folio Gallery team is participating in the exhibition through Dr Angelina Mirabito as Guest Curator, working with Dou Jin, and Scott Ross as Project Manager. Assisted by University of Melbourne Master of Arts and Cultural Management interns Zic Liu and Xin Ji.
Inspired by the ancient Qixi tradition and the story of Zhīnǚ, the celestial Weaver Girl, Threads of Love begins with Qixi’s historic celebration of women’s creativity, skill, craftsmanship and artistic excellence.
From this foundation, the exhibition opens into a contemporary exploration of love, identity, memory, cultural inheritance and human connection, bringing together female artists from diverse cultural backgrounds and artistic practices.
We warmly invite you to join us for the opening night this Friday and experience the exhibition with the artists, curators and wider community.
