🦋 The Butterfly Effect Youth Recognition Award 🦋
In a world where negative behaviour often receives the most attention, we want to celebrate the young people quietly making our community a better place.
Every month, The Butterfly Effect Youth Recognition Award will recognise a young person under the age of 18 who has demonstrated outstanding character through their actions, attitude, or contribution to others.
We are not looking for perfect children.
We are looking for the helpers, the protectors, the quiet achievers, and the young people whose actions make others feel seen, safe, valued, and supported.
Nominations may be submitted by parents, teachers, coaches, employers, neighbours, family members, friends, or community members.
Young people may be nominated for qualities such as:
Kindness and compassion • Honesty and integrity • Community spirit • Resilience and perseverance • Leadership through positive actions • Helping others without expecting recognition • Including those who feel left out • Creating safety for others • Standing up to bullying respectfully and without violence • Demonstrating courage, empathy, and good character
Each month, one recipient will receive a $100 voucher to a local business of their choice.
We especially encourage nominations for young people whose efforts may otherwise go unnoticed. The young people who quietly do the right thing when nobody is watching.
Anonymous nominations are welcome, and recipients may choose whether they would like their story shared publicly or kept private.
