Our multi site installation is now dancing up a Centre@devonportregionalgallery and TasmaniaLacunae: Tidal is ‘s of our connection with the waterways that flow through lutruwita/Tasmania and how a sense of (to , to , and to one another) is fundamental to each of our lives. Visitors to each of the Tidal Festival sites in and surrounds can interact with this experience in each location. Lacunae: Tidalwill transmit your reflection to the other sites, enabling you to dance anonymously witha stranger. Like the rivers and lakes that feed the paranaple/Mersey River to the ocean thatsurrounds lutruwita/Tasmania, Lacunae: Tidal connects us in ways that might not be obvious.Move as you like. Dance like nobody’s watching at Lacunae Flow... while your audience joins you from afar 🕺

To encounter Lacunae is to have a visual connection with a community of people that occupy the same space – both close and far away.

Developed by Launceston tech-art collective Soma Lumia, this interactive installation links our two sites at the Art Gallery at Royal Park and the Museum at Inveresk through a live feed. Take the opportunity to connect with an unseen audience in real-time through motion, sound and visuals.

⏲️ Be sure to explore this immersive experience before it closes in a few weeks.

During the mid-1800s acclimatisation societies were established in Australia to introduce animals and plants which reproduced a sense of home for colonisers in an otherwise alien landscape. A lack of biological knowledge meant that the consequences of these actions were generally unforeseen. These societies “liberated” the likes of starlings, sparrows, rabbits, gorse, and foxgloves to Australia.

Very excited about this show. A loong journey with Tasdance and pakana kanaplila. But finally it’s going to happen!

We're super excited to announce that tuylupa—one of the works that was unfortunately unable to go ahead during Mona Foma this year—is finally coming to the Theatre Royal. Using dance, music and projections, performers will trace the sixty thousand year journey of the palawa people and the island of lutruwita / Tasmania.

Tickets on sale now: mona.foma.net.au/tuylupa
