Ngaruwanajirri is an Aboriginal art centre on the Tiwi Islands, primarily for artists with disabilities. Renowned for dynamic artworks with local ochres, artists make contemporary works on paper, canvas and bark as well as lively ironwood carvings centred around ancient Tiwi traditions. Based in the iconic Keeping Place, the painted ceiling is inspirational, connecting old ways with new.

Experience authentic, one-of-a-kind artworks and cultural stories, shared directly by artists from community. Discover unique pieces you won’t find anywhere else, each carrying generations of knowledge and connection.
