Happy 2022 to one and all . Frames Framing will reopen on Monday Jan 9. For those who have deadlines prior to that , your pieces will be done and I will contact you personally. Any urgent work that needs doing ring on 0418427847 and we can work something out. I’ll be in and out of shop so if you see a yellow bomb or a pushie outside, drop in. Hope the new year is less worrisome than the last two and that all your frames come true. Cheers, Pete.

Pic below is one of several hand drawn and coloured drafts for the poster of the film The Sundowners. It was made in Oz in 1959 but ( because none of us can do an Aussie accent) they hired Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr to help us out. Peter Ustinov was in the mix and the final name mentioned on the cast list is the token Australian ,Chips Rafferty. I think we’ve now paid America back, sending our talented, award winning actors to populate their films. It’s a glorious and evocative image, so I’m hoping I get to see some more.

Today we lost Ivor Cole. His paintings put a smiley face on serious issues and managed to pull you out of yourself to acknowledge that it’s worth laughing at your own insignificance.
He was a fan and collector of 45’s and 33’s, had great taste and an archival knowledge of music and artists from the 50’s and sixties . It was on his radio show that I heard that Amy Winehouse had died, and his enthusiasm for her made me delve into her catalogue. I didn’t know him well but I liked him a lot . He was a good and interesting man and he will be missed. Love to his family ###

The great thing about other people’s art is that often they won’t pick it up in a hurry and it decorates my shop with so little effort. Sometimes I almost feel they’re mine!!! Thankyou Sascha, Carmen and Kurtis.

Dear customers, I will be taking a couple of days to sort out this lingering virus that is making my working life erratic. My sincere apologies for delays and feel free to ring me on 0418427847 if you have urgent needs. I will probably be in the shop doing what I can but I think a little face to face caution till I get a result is the best approach. Many thanks for your patience and hope to see you in person within a few days. Cheers, Pete
