📍Tactile Arts Gallery Darwin

The culminating solo exhibition of Brendan Penzer / iZZY iBiS’s three-month Tactile Arts residency.

Printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, installation, performance and digital media collide in a new body of work exploring influence, identity, ecology, culture and existence in the Anthropocene.

Applications for the Tactile Arts Christmas Makers Markets are still OPEN!

If you make, craft, design or create something special, we’d love to have you join us for a weekend celebrating the incredible talent of our local maker and craft community.

Come along, share your work, connect with the community and help make Christmas shopping a little more local, creative and handmade.

It was a pleasure to welcome Minister for Arts Hon Jinson Anto Charls, and Laurie Zio MLA to Tactile Arts yesterday.

It was wonderful to introduce them to Maguj/Nanja (Pandanus/Ghost Nets) and have a conversation about the incredible work created by the artists of Numbulwar Numburindi Arts.

We’re grateful for their visit and for their support of the arts and creative community here in the Northern Territory.

Thank you both for taking the time to join us and celebrate this special exhibition.

This Friday night, the artists of Numbulwar Numburindi Arts will be weaving baskets on the lawn at Tactile Arts as we open the Maguj/Nanja (Pandanus/Ghost Nets) Exhibition.

Come meet the artists, see their weaving up close and experience an evening of culture, creativity and connection.

Maguj/Nanja brings together traditional pandanus weaving and contemporary materials, exploring old knowledge, new materials and the strength of culture.

What an unforgettable night!

Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of gathering at Parliament House to celebrate the 27th annual Portrait of a Senior Territorian Art Award and the incredible artists behind this year’s portraits.

It was a truly special evening filled with wonderful people, inspiring stories and beautiful artwork.

A huge congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients:
