What a night! So proud to be part of Territory Icons in Thread launch at Government House. The tropical setting, the historic venue, and the stunning embroidered panels made for a truly special night. I am thrilled to be part of another wonderful collaboration by the amazing creative community in the Northern Territory. Congratulations to all who volunteered and to the embroidery community.

Honoured to be part of this wonderful community textile project! Thanks to the Textiles Travelling Suitcase for your lovely words, and to my fellow creatives—what a wonderful experience to share.

Barbara Williams Artist is one of the volunteers creating the centre panel embroidery of a swamp bloodwood tree. We’re learning so much from Barbara with her experience in both community textiles (check out this article in the Adelaide River Quilt https://www.sbs.com.au/language/chinese/en/article/labour-of-love-quilt-stitched-by-89-volunteers-celebrates-mighty-nt-river/dc9qk2tbl) and more recently, the huge commission at Questacon, Mangroves - Tales from the tide https://www.questacon.edu.au/whats-on/exhibitions/mangroves-tales-from-the-tide. Thank you, Barbara, for being so generous in sharing your knowledge and experience, and your dedication to making this embroidery look fabulous.
