I was invited to a light painting workshop, and this was my favourite moment from last night. I have more things to show from this night. But I just had to share this now! Wow! Thank you Darwin Camera Club.

POV: You’re trading the city noise for the wild sounds of Darwin’s mangroves. 🌴🦜✨
If you haven’t taken a stroll down the mangrove boardwalk lately, you are missing out on some world-class birdwatching right on our doorstep!
Check out who decided to show up for a photoshoot today:

A Little Corella putting on an absolute masterclass in flight style against that iconic, crisp Territory blue sky. βœˆοΈπŸ’™

A tiny Lemon-bellied Flycatcher (or Flyrobin) looking incredibly cute, perfectly camouflaged, and keeping a watchful eye on things from its tree-hollow throne. πŸ‹πŸ‘€

The Darwin Mangrove Ecosystem is a whole different world depending on the tides. Grab your camera, hit the walkway, and keep your eyes peeledβ€”you never know who’s going to fly past! πŸŠπŸ¦…

From dramatic storm fronts to tranquil blue skies, Darwin really knows how to put on a show. 🌀️⚑

There is nowhere else on earth where you can experience wild monsoonal energy, vibrant coastal cliffs, and a buzzing beach sunset culture all in one place. Just a little reminder of how lucky we are to call the Top End home.

Which vibe are you choosing today?

1️⃣ Massive shelf cloud rolling over the rural block β›ˆοΈ
2️⃣ Golden hour light over the Nightcliff rocks πŸŒ…
3️⃣ Perfect blue skies cruising down Rapid Creek πŸ›Ά
4️⃣ The ultimate Mindil Beach sunset crowd πŸ–οΈ

Standing tall since the very beginning! πŸ’§βœ¨
Did you know that the iconic Palmerston Water Tower was actually the very first structure built in the planned city of Palmerston back in 1984? πŸ—οΈ
Before the bustling CBD, the shops, and the suburbs existed, this massive concrete tower was erected by Steelcon Constructionsβ€”founded by the legendary Territory businessman and aerobatics pilot Guido Zuccoli (yep, that’s who the suburb Zuccoli is named after!).
Fast forward to today: managed by Power and Water, it still keeps the water flowing to our local suburbs, while lighting up the night sky in vibrant colors for community events and celebrations. πŸŒ…πŸŽ¨
A true local landmark that watched Palmerston grow from the ground up.

Spending time out at Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve never disappoints. You can sit quietly for hours just watching the Top End's incredible wildlife do what they do best.
On one side, a Pied Heron stands completely frozen in the shallows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. On the other, a salty glides seamlessly through the w**d beds, reminding you exactly who rules these floodplains.
The Northern Territory really is a wildlife photographer's paradiseβ€”you just have to keep your eyes sharp and your lens ready.
Which shot is your favorite? The patient hunter or the master of stealth? πŸ‘‡
