🎨✨ CREATIVITY COMING TO LIFE ✨🎨

Another beautiful painting workshop with the girls at Headspace Darwin 💛

Over our sessions, the girls have been creating their very own unique pieces, bringing their own ideas, stories and creativity to life on canvas. I absolutely love watching each artwork develop and seeing how different every creation becomes.

These workshops are always such a relaxed and welcoming space, a chance to slow down, have a yarn, paint, create and just enjoy the process. 🖌️🎨

Seeing the girls grow in confidence with their artwork and make each piece completely their own makes me so proud. 🥰

I can’t wait to see where they take their creations next and what comes to life at our next session!

So grateful to be able to share these creative spaces. ❤️

💙 QUICK UPDATE – MAKAYLA’S DREAM JOURNEY GIVEAWAY 💙

Just a quick update regarding the giveaway we shared yesterday.

We’re making a small change to how the giveaway will be run while we confirm the correct way to set everything up.

For now, please don’t make a donation for the purpose of receiving an entry into the giveaway.

Makayla’s Dream Journey GoFundMe is still open as normal for anyone who would simply like to support her journey. 💙

For everyone who has already supported since the giveaway was announced — thank you! I have your details and will provide an update once we have confirmed how the giveaway will proceed.

If you happened to share our original giveaway post/video, could you please delete that share for now so nobody follows the old entry instructions. 🙏🏽

Nothing has happened to Makayla’s Dream Journey — we are simply making sure we have everything set up the right way before continuing. 🌺

Thank you so much for understanding and for all the love and support you continue to show Makayla and our family. 💙🌴

We’ll update everyone again soon.

I’m so excited to finally share this. ❤️

NAPCAN’s National Child Protection Week 2026 Silent Auction is coming, and my original artwork created for this year’s campaign will be going up for auction.

This artwork holds a very special story and was created around this year’s message of shifting conversations into action, reminding us that protecting our children takes all of us, and that meaningful change comes when we turn our words into action.

Seeing the story behind my artwork brought to life through this beautiful video with NAPCAN is something I’m incredibly proud of.

The original, one-of-a-kind painting will soon have the opportunity to find its new home, while also helping support the important work of NAPCAN and National Child Protection Week.

Please have a watch, share this video and help us spread the word. 🙏🏽

If you know a business, organisation, workplace, collector or someone who would love to own this very special piece, please tag them or share this post with them. Every share helps this artwork and its message reach further.

I’ll share the auction details and bidding information so everyone knows how they can take part. ❤️

Let’s get this artwork seen far and wide.

Many of you know me through Garawa Aboriginal Designs, my artwork, murals and workshops. Today, I’m sharing something deeply personal.

This beautiful young woman is my daughter, Makayla. She has been diagnosed with Machado-Joseph Disease (MJD), a rare degenerative condition that will progressively impact her mobility and independence.

We have created Makayla’s Dream Journey to help her experience the places she has always dreamed of visiting while she is still able to enjoy them.

If you are in a position to donate, we would be incredibly grateful. If not, a simple share can help reach someone who can.

Help us turn dreams into memories. 💜

Thank you for the love, support and kindness you have already shown our family.

Over the last few days, I’ve had the absolute privilege of working alongside seven incredible young women from communities across the Top End as part of the Darwin Street Art Festival.

I was honoured to be chosen by the girls to create a design that would tell their story. Together, we incorporated each of their totems and wove them into a design inspired by the beauty, movement, and life of the Darwin Wet Season. Every element within this mural holds meaning and reflects the unique identities, cultures, and voices of these amazing young women.

Watching the girls bring this artwork to life has been something truly special. The amount of pride, talent, laughter, and connection shared throughout this project is something I will carry with me for a long time.

A huge thank you to the beautiful and inspiring Jaylene Cooper and the incredible Red Dust team for creating opportunities like this and for the ongoing work you do to empower and uplift our young people. Your passion and dedication shine through in everything you do.

The feedback we’ve received from the community over the last few days has been overwhelming, and it has been so wonderful to see people stop, admire the mural, and connect with the story behind it.

So much love to all seven girls, you should be incredibly proud of what you’ve created. Thank you for trusting me to help bring your vision to life. ❤️

If you’re down at the Darwin Waterfront, make sure you stop by and check it out!

So proud to finally share this special mural created for the new Berry Springs Childcare Centre 🌅🐢✨

This piece was such a joy to work on and I absolutely loved bringing so much colour and life into a space that will soon be filled with beautiful children learning, growing and creating memories together. Every part of this design represents community, guidance, connection and the importance of creating safe spaces for our next generation to thrive.

A huge thank you to the wonderful team for reaching out and trusting me to create something so meaningful for your centre. It honestly makes me proud knowing this artwork will now live out in our part of the world for families and children to see every day 💛

Thank you for supporting Aboriginal art and storytelling within community spaces.
