Exploring collective conversation, audience members will chat and connect with others over discussions of invisible labour that exists beyond definitions: the work, care, emotions, responsibilities and relationships that often go unseen in both creative and everyday roles.

This will be a conversational, accessible and low-pressure participatory activity that extends on Bulanos’ contribution to Framework Issue 47.

Framework is UNSW Art and Design’s critical and experimental arts journal. Fatal Crush is our end of term event bringing together contributors of Issue #47 for an evening of readings and performances.

This term, artists were asked to respond to the theme: ‘Aporetic’.

‘Aporetic’ slips, translates, transforms, confuses and frustrates. It is workable, hopeful, a reflex: it is a pausing. Aporetic dialogues are a way of offering solutions that become complexities, that become solutions, that become complexities.

There will be a small bar to purchase drinks on the night. We will also have some interactive activities so it will be lots of fun, so come by with your friends!!

Assembly is an incredible new event showcasing the works of fine arts and design students through a runway and exhibition at the new Paddington Campus Courtyard. We want to see your art and celebrate the diversity of practices, perspectives, and voices that shape our school!

💥UNSW Art and Design’s arts journal Framework is accepting submissions for Issue #47 - ‘Aporetic’.💥

Is ‘aporetic’ a state, a feeling, a situation, a privilege, a thought, a place, a thing, a relationship, a doubt, a lack of, or something else entirely? ‘Aporetic’ slips, translates, transforms, confuses and frustrates. It is workable, hopeful, a reflex: it is a pausing.

Writing and thinking can become stagnant without action yet here is fertile aporetic ground for thinking and writing, made of deep listening and deep be-ing.

Please submit a pitch of your work or a finished piece. Don’t stress too much if it’s not on theme, we can work that out together.

Framework accepts all forms of writing, including but not limited to:

- Critical, academic, illustrated and/or personal essays
- Text-based art
- Exhibition reviews
- Food writing
- Poetry

Fatal Crush is our launch event and reading night for UNSW Art and Design’s critical and experimental arts publication, Framework. For our first issue of 2026, we asked writers to respond to the theme: Saturate.
Saturate means to drench, to absorb, to imbue. Places, times, names, histories bleed into one another, it’s under your feet, in your head. A newspaper left out in the rain, a river once full, digital spaces brimming, no this is not just water.
