This year's Griffin Studio artists—Erica Brennan, Michael Louis Kennedy and Grace Malouf—spent last week at the deeply inspiring Shark Island Institute Kangaroo Valley. They spent the week writing and reflecting, learning alongside mentors Declan Greene, Anthea Williams and Daley Rangi to develop their work.

In the 15 years of Griffin Studio, this is the first time we’ve had the opportunity—thanks to Shark Island Institute—to have our Studio Artists step away from daily life and have a week-long residency. The impact of landscape, time and being nourished with home-made cooking cannot be underestimated. It was transformational at this mid-way point for these writers and we’re so grateful to Shark Island Institute for supporting us ❤️
