Māori Cultural Arts Victoria (MCAV) is proud to announce the Victoria Kapa Haka Festival 2026, to be held on:

📅 Sunday, 20 September 2026
📍 Eagle Stadium, Werribee

We invite our iwi, hapū, whānau, and wider community to join us for a full day celebrating kapa haka, culture, connection, and community. The festival will showcase powerful performances, waiata, haka, kai, and whānau-friendly activities that uplift our reo, our tikanga, and our identity.

This kaupapa is proudly supported by Kapa Haka Australia Inc and the Victorian Māori Festival, financial sponsors of MCAV.

Meet April Pokino, a member of our kākahu committee. Wānanga Kākahu has taken place and all our Kaihaka are blessed now with new skills and knowledge to pass on to our tāmariki so they may continue the cycle.

Due to the amazing responses we have received since our Muster/Open Day post, we have had to make some minor changes to the day! So PLEASE READ CAREFULLY if you have registered or are inteding to attend on the day!

1. REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW COMPULSORY (Tamariki not included)

Thank you too all who have expressed interest to come to our Muster / Open Day. This amazing response has resulted in us having to CAP attendance on the day at 150 people. This will ensure that we are able to seat and feed everybody, and we also need to ensure that we do not exceed the legal capacity of the venue. So now all people who are interested or intend on attending the day MUST REGISTER via the Stack Team app. Also, it is first in, first serve, e Te whānau! We would hate for people to miss out, but our priority is safety of the people. If the venue has guidelines and safety plans, we will definitely adhere to those rules. There will be a list at the door with your name on it if you have registered. This also means that we MAY not have enough Kai to feed everyone outside of the 150 person limit. So 150 people it is me te nui o te aroha. Please also note that this DOES NOT include our kids, e te whānau. You do not need to register kids, we just ask that you add a note on your registration to let us know how many kids you will be bringing. 💚
