Unstoppable now! Funded by Tasmanian Governments ReCFIT, this Cygnet Film School project is a youth run initiative, showcasing inspiring stories that are contributing to a world we can all feel happy to be a part of. 🌱🌱🌱

Cygnet Film School visited our shop to talk about sustainable living and youth involvement in community education. It was great fun! Can’t wait to see the film when it’s finished. Thanks team! https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093612920265

💚 Briony sat down with young journalist Georgia from the Cygnet Film School this weekend to talk about why sustainability is at the heart of our Kids' Fashion Program, and what it really means to "build utopia" through textile recycling and fashion education.

Collaborating with young creatives is one of our favourite things, and it was a pleasure to work with these young filmakers.

Textile waste is a global priority, and Briony talked with Georgia about our textile recycling program and how important it is to embed sustainable values into our Kid's Fashion Runway Class. 80% of their garments will be sewn from pre-loved fabric donated by the community. "There is much fabric in the world already. We need to be part of the solution, not the problem. "

SO proud to be leading the way in sustainable fashion education in Tassie, and can't wait to see this important documentary. 🌏✂️

🎬 A big congratulations to all the emerging filmmakers who took part in the 2025 Cygnet Film School workshops!

This year, our young creatives brought incredible stories to life, learning the ins and outs of filmmaking, from scriptwriting and camera work to editing and sound. Their final films were thoughtful, original, and a true credit to the hard work they put in.

🙏 I do have to apologise for the lack of posts throughout the year, we’ve been so immersed in the process, time got away! I’ll be sharing some photos and behind-the-scenes moments from our 2025 adventures over the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

Big thanks to Arts Tasmania for kicking us into another year! We are in our third year of grant funding from Arts Tasmania, which has made it possible to produce more than 10 films in two years, form several dynamic production crews, foster new friendships and collaborations, provide exposure to industry-standard equipment, network with professionals, and create award-winning films that have been showcased at both state and national film festivals. Looking forward to seeing what 2025 brings 🎬🎥📽🌟

Runners up: Aquinnah McKendrick, Daisy Adams, and Billie Chatto for their film "Fourteen". These young filmmakers got to experience watching their work on the big screen, which more than held up alongside the others at the VSFF premiere screening at the State Cinema, showcasing the incredible talent of filmmakers from across the country.
