Experience a wondrous display of over 70 sculptures created by artists from Australia and abroad in the 23rd annual signature exhibition, SWELL Sculpture Festival, along Currumbin Beach 12-21 September 2025. The free exhibition is open all hours with a selection of sculptures revealing a new verve as they are lit up under the southern sky. Over 10 days, visitors can experience the sculptures, enjo

y twilight walks, informative artist talks, discover new perspectives, wander through the SWELL Smalls Gallery and participate in artist master classes and children's' workshops. Experience pop up exhibitions across the City of Gold Coast. At the beginning of September, SWELL rolls out its pop-up exhibitions, activating public spaces and places for everyone to enjoy. Mid-September SWELL launches SWELL Fringe Festival, showcasing artistic vibrancy through sculptural installations to accompany the signature exhibition along Currumbin Beach. The full program will be released in July 2025. SWELL inspires, amuses, uplifts and captures the hearts and minds of all who visit.

Forest Dwellers by Monte Lupo 🌲🌷

Forest Dwellers is an immersive installation combining sculpture, painted timber and integrated seating to create a visually striking and emotionally engaging feature within the Oasis Shopping Centre.

Inspired by the quiet beauty and organic forms of the forest, the artwork introduces a sense of nature, curiosity and calm into the bustling retail environment. Through thoughtful spatial design and playful sculptural elements, Forest Dwellers encourages visitors to pause, observe and engage with the work at their own pace.

The installation is designed not only as an artwork, but as a welcoming place to sit, reflect and connect—creating a moment of creativity and discovery within the everyday shopping experience.

Your Light in Motion: Create A Moving Sculpture with Devorah Ungerleider 🍃

Join us for a moment of creativity, calm, and connection. Light in Motion invites you to create your own suspended sculpture inspired by Lumie, part of SWELL Sculpture Festival. Using layered abstract forms, you’ll design a piece that moves gently with light and air—bringing rhythm, softness, and a sense of presence into your space. This workshop is about more than making—it’s about slowing down, following intuition, and creating something that continues to feel alive long after you leave.

INNER CIRCLE invites visitors to contemplate reflection and connection. The work is formed from translucent discs that frame shifting views both inward and outward, the work explores the relationship between personal responsibility and collective action. Looking inwards, we are encouraged to consider our values, choices and capacity for change. Looking outwards, we are reminded that our actions ripple through families, communities and society. The circular form symbolises unity, equality and shared purpose. Viewer’s become part of the artwork itself, reflecting on how a better world begins within each of us and grows through all of us together.
