A blast from the past! 2018!
Clay dug from the backyard and creating Terra Sig and slips ❤️
Sometimes it's good to revisit old work to see where I'm going! ❤️🙏⭐️

Another work in progress, our son River...this is my second attempt at the same painting because I took the last one too far, had a tantrum and scraped it back to the canvas with my palette knife!

I have stopped for a bit, the paint can dry and I can come back to it later but I am trying to keep myself moving so thought I would put it out to the world ❤️

A quiet moment captured in charcoal.
This is Troy—my partner, my muse, my grounding presence.
Drawn from life in a single sitting, this portrait reflects more than likeness—it carries the weight of stillness, trust, and the soft dialogue between artist and subject.
There’s something raw and honest about drawing someone you love with nothing but your eyes, your hands, and the silence in between."

This large ceramic bowl feels rustic and dusted in magic ash glaze, iron and earth.
Crafted from wild clay and is a celebration of earth and flame 🔥🌾

One and a half years later after winning the ceramics prize at the Duritz awards in Gympie, this tiny ephemeral work of my grandfather which I carved from a block of clay dug from the backyard is still no where near showing any signs of breaking down! I remember being told by the curator at the time that I could have been in the running for overall prize but because it was ephemeral, the sponsors may not appreciate having an art piece that wasn't going to be permanent!

I guess my Pop likes watching over me in my studio and I kind of like the comfort of knowing he's there with me 🙏❤️

A Hinged box made from clay we dug from a tip in Toowoomba Qld!
I am experimenting with glazes that create a metal type effect
I layered this one a little too thick and will try thinning it down next time but I like it!
I also need to work with the clay at a firmer stage as this box is a little wonky but I think it has character ☀️

I'm hoping to understand colour this year!
It's raining outside so I grabbed my charcoal drawing on canvas, sprayed it with fixative and started putting paint down!

It's always more fun when there's no expectations and I can use pieces like this one for practice while I am learning.
