Hello there, remember me?
My visits to the pottery studio have been so few and far between since miss Olivia arrived 18 months ago... I swear I could feel my creativity dying a long, slow death π That's when the algorithm gods served me a video of someone making fun, modern designs in stained glass.
So, as one does when nap trapped with phone in hand π€·π»ββοΈ I quickly went down the rabbit hole of YouTube tutorials. Twenty minutes later I decided 'I can do that' and announced to all my family I was keen to collect glass tools and supplies for my birthday.
Last weekend I finally had enough time to bang out my first piece and I gifted it to my beautiful boss, who's special skill is killing the hardiest of plants. Unless one of her cats knocks it over, she won't be able to kill this one!
To a seasoned glass artist, it's by no means perfect. But I'm very pleased with the result and look forward to making more stained glass around the 9367 other things I do every week. Unlike in pottery where work dries out and I need to rely on equipment outside my home - stained glass is not time sensitive and I have everything I need right here βΊοΈ
From the pattern to the pot, this piece is entirely made my me π€©
