There’s something special about your first dog. The pup that grows with you, that teaches you to love dogs.

Bonnie was that dog for me.

She was sweet and gentle, she loved to be around her people, even if she preferred to have her own space.

She hated thunder storms, loved cake (too much, she once got into my 4th birthday cake), and was especially prone to demanding a second dinner in her latter years.

Millennium ‘M’ set train 💛✨

For this one, I found this (2nd pic) reference photo for the train, but I knew I wanted it to have some more dramatic sunset lighting.

So, keeping the rainy vibes, I looked at references of dramatic sunsets in the rain on Pinterest, and pulled my colours together from that.

Is the position of the sun realistic? Probably not! But hey, it’s art!

Introducing my new Sydney Trains series ✨🛤️

On a whim of random inspiration, I decided last week that I wanted to paint some of the iconic train sets.

Armed with nothing but vibes and the vague knowledge of various sets, I began. First up, the Oscar ‘H’ set, pictured here in its old classic yellow and blue colours.
These guys operate primarily on the Illawarra line between Kiama and Syd, and the central coast and Newcastle line.

Then, there’s the next up, my personal fave, the Tangara ‘T’ set. This is the same train featured in my jacaranda sydney trains artwork, and are used across sydney rail, on the T1, T4 and T9 lines, and occasionally T3, T7, and T8 lines.

After a hiatus over Jan and Feb, this is the month of my grand return to markets. 💃🏻

I’ll be out at Engadine next Sunday, then the following Saturday I’m vending at the Balmain Village Markets for the first time.

I really loved getting to work on some architecture and portraiture, especially knowing it was a special gift for people I love 💕
