About this community-led program:
Creswick Wheelism Art Project - CWAP for short! We are so excited to let you know about a new exciting interactive community art initiative: ‘The Creswick Wheelism Art Project’ or (CWAP) for short. This community-led initiative invites us all to get involved and have a lot of fun doing it! The idea is to get as creative and imaginative as you like and paint your landfill wheelie bin in whatever style takes your fancy. Bin day will become an art exhibition every week, and Bin Exhibition Outings will be a cheap night out for the whole family. Prize categories will be announced down the track providing even more incentive to get involved. There’re a few guidelines to participation including no slogans, use of text, or offensive images, don’t paint over the bin serial number, the lid, or the Hepburn Shire Council logo, and only paint the landfill bin not the recycle bin. Otherwise, go to town literally with your art piece. Everyone is invited to participate so encourage your neighbours, family, schools, and businesses to get involved. If anyone needs a hand due to age or physical ability, some willing Creswick artists are on board, so please don’t hesitate to let us know. We just can’t wait to see how fun, silly, and creative Creswickians really are. There will be a long list of thank-yous at the end of this project but for now, a big thank you to Hepburn Shire Council for funding this project the brainchild of locals Lisa Timson and Ross Jones.
