📣 DID YOU KNOW?

Colac Otway Shire Council AUSTRALIA DAY CELEBRATIONS will be held at the Cressy Aerodrome: History From Ground To Air on MONDAY 26TH JANUARY.

Cressy & District are privileged to host this community event and we look forward to having you visit our township and making connections.

When you are here, remember to visit the two MURALS – the double-sided one on the CRESSY WATER TOWER and the CRESSY BOWLING CLUB – both painted by the talented artist Tim Bowtell from Victoria.

The CRESSY HISTORY CENTRE will be open from 12 noon, so call in and learn more about our history, and view the many visual displays which include the story of the CRESSY RAAF BASE, now the Cressy Aerodrome.

The History Centre will also be hosting a stall at the event, indoors in the Hangar. Come and chat with us and share your memories.

🙌 Cressy loves Tim Bowtell!

👏 So much so that we welcomed him back recently to paint Cressy’s second mural.

👀 Tim’s second mural can be enjoyed at the entrance wall to the Cressy Bowling Club in Lyons Street.

🧐 The image features our early history and two local women bowlers - Joan Nelson and Dorothy White.

🚗 Make sure you stop to see it next time you are driving through!

👏 It was fantastic to have the Beeac Primary School involved in our celebration in Cressy yesterday.

🙏 Thank you to Barwon Water and their education team for their help to facilitate the activity.

💦 It was a great opportunity for students to learn from artist Tim Bowtell, get creative and at the same time extend their understanding of the value of water.
