NEW Art Class with Olivia York

Perfect for all skill levels, this comprehensive course covers the fundamental cornerstones of watercolour illustration

🖌 The first week we’ll tackle different types of washes, colour mixing and creating gradients and apply these skills to a landscape painting.

🖌 In our second week, we will work on a floral illustration, this will hone our more controlled painting techniques, using glazing, wet on dry and watercolour pencils to create more detailed mark making.

🖌 Our third week we will focus on texture, each choosing an animal and learning different brush techniques such as stippling, applying different levels of pressure, as well as more relaxed methods such as splattering.

🖌 In our final lesson we will use a grid technique to create a face of our choosing and really hone our observation skills by delving into recognising warm and cool toned colours and experiment with contouring. This course will provide a great foundation for anyone interested in exploring watercolour for the first time or hoping to expand their understanding of the nuances of this medium.
