A quick study. I have already done the sketch to design the composition and the value thumbnail to see the value masses. This is the colour study to decide on colour choices. It needs to be small and quick so that I still have the freshness and excitement to paint it at a larger scale. I like this one.

I love doing small, quick studies in colour. They are not perfect, just practice. An exploration of ideas, playing with colour possibilities. Some go in the bin and some have potential. I quite like this one - mmm - but I’ll do a different wash under it next time.
