💃CLASSES TONIGHT!👯 Come for week 3 of Balboa. Then at Level 2 it's more "Race to Boogie" Lindy Hop with the "chase" entry into Tandem Charleston. It's one of the most popular ways to get into tandem charleston! We'll show you how to get in, and out.

We're starting a brand new ✨BEGINNER's✨ dance block tonight - it's all about BALBOA!

This is a TOTALLY beginner-friendly class - you don't need any experience or a partner to join in. Just come along, bring yourself, and come have a laugh (or 7).

Balboa is a type of dance in the Swing Dance family that originated on packed dance floors of California almost 100 years ago. It's known for its connection, fun footwork, and tight turns.

CLASSES TONIGHT! It's the last week of Beginner's Blues followed by more Race to Boogie content! Today that's Frankie Sixes, a classic sequence of moves named after Frankie Manning. Then next week at Level 1 we start beginners' Balboa.

The truth is: community does just exist, it has to be built 🔨

Being part of a committee that creates things, puts them out into the world for people to come together over, connect through, and make new friends... well, that can mean a whole lot.

Many of us have found community at SWS. We've found friends, and perhaps even found family.

But none of it can exist without the builders — the people behind the scenes laying the bricks and mortar. Being a builder can have its challenges, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. You get to look at what you've created and know you've done something meaningful, paid it forward, and given back.

If you've been wanting to contribute, it's a great time to join the committee or apply for the Rising Star Scholarship. Have a think, and if you're not sure, come and have a chat. Maybe the nomination form is waiting for you 😘

🎓The Rising Star Scholarship: We have two opportunities (one lead and one follow) for emerging dancers in the community. This scholarship is for 1 year of free classes aimed at building you as a dancer and a community member. We'll help mentor you in a topic/area of your choosing.
