Red Chair Red Chair brings the best home-grown artists to regional Queensland and beyond.

Based on Gubbi Gubbi / Kabi Kabi Country on the Sunshine Coast, we support artists to create, tour and connect to communities through live performance and place-based arts.

Jonzac, the next stop(and third concert) on the tour, started with a perfectly civilised detour. Before the concert we paid a visit to a charming Cognac and Pineau distillery, where one of the owners, Sylvie, walked us through the entire process of cognac production, from grape to glass. It was fascinating stuff, and the tasting at the end of the tour turned out to be the perfect warm-up for a concert performance!?! Suitably fortified, we made our way to the historic Théâtre du Château de Jonzac, where our extremely welcoming and energetic hosts, Claude and Ann, had everything ready for us. Another sold-out show, with another exceptionally warm and receptive audience - perfect!
Then came the reception. A fantastic spread was laid on for us afterwards, and the local cocktail (a blend of cognac and either tonic water or lemon squash) featured heavily. A very comfortable coach trip back to the hotel was had by all! Another big thank you to Claude, Ann and everyone in Jonzac for a wonderful day. A return visit is definitely on the cards!!

Next stop: Carcassonne (and the surrounding area), and our first concert in the historic town of Mirepoix!

Seven years of stories adds up.

45 Keepers. Four Sunshine Coast communities. 600+ Keeper Logs, thousands of photographs and artefacts, and more than 40 edited short documentary films.

From a social and heritage perspective, this is a valuable record of the people, places and everyday experiences of the Sunshine Coast at a particular point in time.

Jenny Ryan, Heritage Library Supervisor with Sunshine Coast Council, talks about why preserving this collection matters, and how a digital library could make these stories accessible to more people, wherever they are.

Every Keeper leaves a written log.
That means the archive isn't just a collection of finished artworks.
It's also full of the things that happened along the way.
Observations. Conversations. Small discoveries. Questions. Notes about people and places. Things that might otherwise disappear.
There are now 600 Keeper Logs and counting.
Together with photographs, video, recordings, artefacts and field notes, they form a remarkable record of seven years of the Keeper Project.
