As always we call on our mates at Brendon Penn Crane Hire to give us a lift home.

There are sponsors, and then there are the people who just turn up, get stuck in and make things happen — and Brendon Penn Crane Hire are exactly that.

A huge thank you to Brendon and the team at Brendon Penn Crane Hire for once again looking after Outback Rodeos Inc. and helping us get our bar and containers transported out to Coolgardie for the 2026 Coolgardie Outback Festival — and then bringing the whole lot home again afterwards!

It’s a massive job getting an event like ours set up and packed down. There’s an incredible amount of gear that has to move, and having great local businesses willing to put their equipment, time and people behind us makes an enormous difference.

No fuss, no dramas — just good people turning up and getting the job done.

As the last of our gear rolled out last night, the final part was saying goodbye to an amazing team of people who support us each year - Exploration Caravan Hire these guys provided the team with accommodation, showers and toilets. Back when we started we used to swag it and dash to the servo for a shower “every now and then”. We as a team are extremely grateful to the team for their support. If you’re in need of a team that will literally go any where to setup remote accommodation please don’t hesitate to give them a call!

Of all the photos captured over OBR26, I reckon this one might be my favourite.

Izzy Collard managed to grab this cracker midway through the chaos on Saturday — 10,342 people through the gates and somehow a moment where Bodean Buckingham and I were both standing still long enough for a photo. 😂

Bodean is the main man behind Outback Rodeos, but for me he’s also become a trusted mentor and someone I’ve got a huge amount of respect for. I’ve learnt a hell of a lot from him, not just about putting on an event of this scale, but about leadership, community and backing the people around you.
