UPDATE: The search for Mary the Tasmanian Devil is over.

After evading wildlife experts, thermal drones, sniffer dogs, and half the Gold Coast, Mary has finally been located...rehearsing at Blah Blah Blah Improv. 😳

Apparently, she heard our next Gold Coast show is on 31 July and decided she'd rather perform improvised comedy than return to her enclosure.

Early reports suggest she's already mastered character work, has strong opinions about scene edits, and makes an excellent villain in short-form theatre games.

Tickets will sell fast. Tasmanian devils, however, are free-range.

Tickets will be available soon.
Image created using Ai because Mary wouldn't stay still long enough to pose (sneaky little devil!).

We had a double showcase this afternoon with students from the levels 1 and 3 courses entertaining an audience with what they'd learnt this term. Unfortunately, we didn't get footage of the showcase. So, we thought we'd share a couple of video clips of the level 3 Groups and Games class and a photo of the level 1 Improv: Fun and Games class. The first video is a lift taught to our teacher by (who learnt it from Frantic Assembly).

Fun fact: every single one of our shows at Currumbin Hotel has sold out...except one. 😱
That "failure" only managed to reach 80% capacity. 😂

Apparently, Gold Coasters and Northern NSW-ers really like comedy made up on the spot, bringing the kids, and having a drink. Who knew?

Thanks for packing out our shows month after month. ❤️ And a huge thanks to all our volunteers who make these shows happen! 💕

Swap umbrellas for belly laughs this Friday night at Improv Comedy FriYAY. Bring your mates, bring the kids, grab a drink, and watch us turn audience suggestions into comedy we definitely didn’t plan. Because honestly…planning sounds exhausting.

The country of Gratalios would like to formally apologise for the unexpected sonic event that occurred at the end of Friday night’s Improvision show at Blah Blah Blah Improv What was intended as a triumphant high note briefly became a canine communication broadcast. We sincerely hope all dogs have now returned home, regrouped, and forgiven us. Gratalios remains committed to future notes that are powerful, moving, and slightly less detectable by family pets.

Last night’s Improvision show and Improv Comedy FriYAY by was an absolute riot—in the best possible way! From the moment the show started, the room was buzzing, and the energy just kept building. We had incredible guest improvisers joining us from afar, bringing fresh comedic brilliance and big Eurovision-worthy moments to the stage.

A special shout-out to audience members who turned up in full Eurovision-inspired outfits! Between the costumes, the cheering, and the non-stop laughter, it genuinely felt like we’d been transported into our own gloriously ridiculous version of the Song Contest.

Huge thanks to our phenomenal cast, our visiting guest artists, the legends behind the scenes, and the team at for making it all happen. And, of course, to every single person in the audience—you made the night what it was.

Next show: Friday, 29 May 2026.
Tickets are already up at blahblahblahimprov.com (link in bio). Don’t leave it too late…tickets to these nights have a habit of disappearing fast.

What if Eurovision…had no script?
Welcome to Improvision — a one-night-only comedy special by Blah Blah Blah Improv where the songs, countries, and drama are made up on the spot! Think big performances, ridiculous characters, and audience suggestions driving the entire show.

No rehearsals. No safety net. Just world-class, professional improvisers from USA, Brisbane, and Gold Coast coming together and creating a musical comedy spectacle live. It’s fast, unpredictable, and hilariously wrong in all the right ways.

🎤 Family-friendly
🍻 Drinks + dinner available
🎭 Funnier than Eurovision (and way cheaper at $12 adults, $9 kids)
👉 One night only! 7pm, 24 April (upstairs) at Currumbin Hotel
