🐦⚙️ Percy the Fish Bandit $650

Always watching. Always waiting. Always hoping for a free fish.

Inspired by a recent fishing trip to Batemans Bay, Brett Robinson's latest repurposed metal sculpture brings to life a familiar character of the waterfront—the ever-hopeful pelican.

As we cast our lines into the bay, Percy stood nearby, gullet open and eyes fixed on every movement. Patient, persistent and full of confidence, he seemed convinced that the next fish would be his!

Crafted from salvaged farm materials Percy celebrates the beauty of giving old materials a new purpose.

Anyone who has fished along the coast will know the type—a cheeky pelican keeping watch, ready to swoop in should luck come your way.

He can be in your garden today. You can view him at The Studio Coolamon, 19 Curtis St, Coolamon.NSW

Thanks for viewing,
Kindest regards,
Allison Robinson

My carrot cake was a bit of a hit with the students at our recent Sheds & Paddocks Soft Pastel workshop! (Results revealed Saturday)

There were a few requests for the recipe, so I thought I’d share it here — perfect with a cuppa and even better shared with family and friends.
Here’s the recipe… 👇

🥕Coolamon Canola Country Carrot Cake🥕

Ingredients
* ⅔ cup brown sugar
* ⅓ cup white sugar
* 2 eggs
* ⅔ cup vegetable oil
* A splash of vanilla
* 1½ cups self-raising flour
* Pinch of salt
* ½ teaspoon cinnamon
* ½ teaspoon nutmeg
* 2 carrots, grated
* 1 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
* ½ cup sultanas or raisins
* 410g tin of fruit — peaches, apple, pineapple or two-fruit mix, including the juice

Method
1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2. Grease a round cake tin or loaf tin and line with baking paper.
3. In a large bowl, mix together the eggs, sugars, oil, vanilla and canned fruit with its juice.
4. Add the grated carrots, walnuts and sultanas and mix through.
5. Add the flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg and gently mix until just combined. Don't overmix.
6. Pour into the prepared tin.
7. Bake for approximately 60 minutes at 180°C, or until the centre feels firm and a skewer inserted into the middle comes out mostly clean.
8. Allow to cool completely before icing.

🧁 Cream Cheese Icing
* 50g softened butter
* 250g cream cheese
* Dash of vanilla
* 2 cups icing sugar

Method:
Beat the butter, cream cheese and vanilla until smooth and combined. Gradually add the icing sugar, beating until creamy and spreadable.
Spread over the completely cooled cake.
Storage: Keep refrigerated for up to a week. The iced or uniced cake can also be frozen.

🥕 Best enjoyed with family and friends on a vintage table cloth.

🎨✨ You Choose, I’ll Teach! ✨🎨

What a fantastic pop-up class we had at The Studio Coolamon!

This class was a little different — everyone got to choose their own subject matter and painting style. And I loved seeing what everyone came up with! ❤️

The best part? Everyone chose something that was challenging to them, a little outside their comfort zone, or something they hadn’t tried before.

There were lots of different ideas, styles and techniques happening around the studio, and it was wonderful watching everyone tackle their own creative challenge. 🖌️🎨

Sometimes the best way to grow as an artist is to simply say “I’ve never done that before… but I’m going to give it a go!” 🙌

So proud of everyone who took on the challenge — and what a fabulous collection of paintings! ❤️

Thank you for another fun day at The Studio Coolamon. 🎨

Opening Night - Up2date Art Exhibition.

🎨📸 So Proud of My Students! 📸🎨

What a wonderful celebration of creativity happening in Coolamon! ❤️

I’m so incredibly proud to see so many of my students stepping outside their comfort zones and entering both the Up2date Art Exhibition with their paintings and sculptures, and Capture Coolamon with their photography.

It takes courage to put your creative work out there for others to see, and I couldn’t be prouder of every one of you. 🥰👏 What an amazing achievement!

A huge congratulations to the Up2date committee and the wonderful ladies at the Coolamon Shire Library for bringing these fantastic events together and creating such a wonderful opportunity for our local artists and photographers.

Our little community is certainly full of creative talent! ❤️🎨📸

Well done everyone — you should all be very proud! 🥂✨

🥂🍾Three Years of
The Studio Coolamon 🎨🥂

Three years ago, I opened the doors to a little dream called The Studio Coolamon… and I honestly couldn’t have imagined where it would take me.

Three years of paint-covered tables, colourful messes, new friendships, laughter, learning, experimenting, happy accidents and SO many beautiful paintings and friendships. 🎨

I’ve watched people who were convinced they “couldn’t paint” discover that they absolutely can.

I’ve seen confidence grow, creativity come alive and friendships form around a shared love of making something with your own hands.

And I’ve been incredibly lucky to have so many wonderful people walk through those studio doors.

To everyone who has attended a class, brought a friend, shared a post, bought a painting, encouraged me, helped behind the scenes or simply popped in for a chat — A big thank you. ❤️

The Studio has become so much more than I ever imagined it would be. It’s a place to learn, create, have a laugh, try something different and, hopefully, leave feeling just a little happier than when you arrived.

So today I’m raising a paintbrush (and perhaps a glass of bubbles!) to three wonderful years of The Studio Coolamon.🥂🎨

Here’s to everything we’ve created so far… and to all the wonderful things still to come.
Happy 3rd Birthday, The Studio Coolamon!

❤️ enjoy these three videos.

Kindest regards,

Allison 🌸
