Well all the rain over the past couple of days has cut off an access to the Wrapt in Mugul exhibition at our place. We have had over 200mls so far! Check out the waterfall erupting over the track into the exhibition!😮
My apologies for the video being side on. I couldn't work out how to get it right way up!

Thank you Gladstone Region!

Over the past 4 months we have welcomed hundreds of visitors across three locations at Mount Colosseum, Miriam Vale and Bororen, and countless other viewers who have spotted our installations along the Bruce Highway.

The success of the inaugural Wrapt in Mugul exhibition is thanks to the support of our fantastic team of dedicated team of artists, producers and support from our local business partners. Together, you've enabled this ambitious project to be a reality.

Special thank you in particular to our exhibiting artists: Dylan Sarra, Jennifer Hollstein, Christine Holden, Belynda Waugh, Culum White, Margaret Worthington, Katrina Elliott, Jenny Fournier, Elara and Arthur Kelly, Kristel Kelly and Lesley Kane.

We would like to give a word of thanks to our talented and dedicated team of artists, collaborators and of course, founder Lee McIvor as we wrap up on the inaugural rainforest and highway exhibition.

Wrapt in Mugul 2021 has recieved an outstanding demonstration of support from the Gladstone community - from attendees of our private tours, workshops in Gladstone Region schools, new and renewed partnerships with local business - all of which has been instrumental in our success.

If I can use, reuse, reconstruct those things that most of us see as rubbish, and make something that's aesthetically pleasing, I'll also get that message across that this stuff lasts forever, [that] we need to reduce what we're using,"" said artist Christine Holden in our article on the ABC.

Mind-blowing to think that 'Shinzoku' is artist Calum White's first ever large-scale sculpture!

This piece has drawn a lot of attention since it was relocated to outside the Colosseum Motel along the Bruce Highway.

We're sad to say goodbye, but it's not so long forever!

It's your last days to have a private tour of Wrapt in Mugul's rainforest location at the base of Mugul Mountain (also known as Mt Colosseum). Final tours of the 2021 exhibition are available on Sunday 31 October.

Belynda Waugh is the artist behind the effervescent sculptural installation 'The Caretakers.'

Belynda (Bindi) Waugh is an Iman and Bundjalung artist whose practice is informed by her indigenous heritage. Bindi’s creativity expands beyond the canvas across an array of disciplines from pottery to poetry and commercial illustration. With commissioned pieces and public works, Bindi’s work is also featured internationally in private collections in countries across Europe, the United States, South Africa, Israel as well as nationally.

Bindi’s work explores contemporary Indigenous issues and has been the recipient of highly-acclaimed awards such as the Max National Indigenous Art Awards, Rio Tinto Alcan Martin Hanson Memorial Art Award and The Bayton Award 2019 People's Choice Award.

Belynda is represented by GALA Gallery in Rockhampton.
