Hi Dyson friends. Yes, there's Melbourne Fringe news - I'll be doing the show for one week in mid-October. Keep an eye out.

But first: please fill in this City Of Port Phillip survey today. It closes on Sunday.

There's a slightly weird 10-point allocation system to indicate which areas you support most, but the really important part is at the end, where you can upload a written submission (even just one paragraph would help), a quick video, or anything else that shares your point of view.

It's so important that lots of individuals let Council know how important it is to support art, artists and creatives of all kinds in our community—and not lose even more creative spaces to apartment developments.

While there are no immediate plans, as many of you already know, our beloved 35+ year-old volunteer-run artists' studios and gallery 106 Art (where most of my Dyson show was written) will one day be forced to close for redevelopment as apartments. That will mean 27 working artists returning to our dining room tables and working in isolation. A

Please, please, please let Council know how you feel about supporting artists and creative practitioners in our municipality, and please share this with anyone you think might care.

We absolutely need subsidised, affordable places to both work and gather as a community—both long-term (10 years plus) as well as temporary spaces to meet, gather, talk about and share our practice.
