André Shannon and Jen Atherton are filmmakers and Co-Founders of the studio, Garden Refle###. Together, they create, publish, and curate radical screen based works that champion vulnerability, resourceful cinema, and q***r community-building across film, video art, and live performance.
Lara Thoms is Co-Artistic Director of APHIDS. She is known for making socially engaged, site-specific, and participatory performance art that often collaborates with people outside the arts, producing unexpected outcomes and alternative modes of art making.
Emmaline Zanelli is a lens-based artist who uses combinations of video, photography, sculpture and performance. Influenced by aesthetics of absurdity and surrealism, she creates work that seeks humour and meaning in the everyday. In recent years, her work has explored themes of labour and youth cultures.
Eliza Lovell is a graduate of Flinders University of South Australia (1992 BA First Class Hons – Drama Centre) and is based on Kaurna Yarta (Adelaide, South Australia). Eliza works nationally and internationally as a Performer, Director, Teaching Artist, Audio Describer, and Intimacy Coordinator (Stage & Screen), with extensive experience leading Community and Cultural Development projects.
Stelly G (Sereima Adimate) is an award-winning Fijian multidisciplinary performance artist, director, and producer based on Gadigal Land in Sydney. Renowned as a local icon within the Australian q***r art and nightlife community, she was named Artist of the Year at the 2024 FBi SMAC Awards and directed the acclaimed feature film Mood Ring.
Joel Sherwood Spring is a Wiradjuri anti-disciplinary artist whose collaborative projects transfigure spatial dynamics of power across art, design, and architecture. His practice critically examines the contested narratives of Australia’s urban and Indigenous histories in the face of ongoing colonisation
Sen Vanderzalm is Producer and Operations Manager at APHIDS. She is also an opera singer in training. Out to See will be her first ever live opera performance. She is scared. But also excited.
