FAQs
1. I’m not a Fringe artist. Can I still attend this event?
Yes! You have two options. Option A: purchase a Hub Club membership at https://melbournefringe.com.au/fringe-festival/hub-club/
Option B: be an artist plus one. We anticipate that the majority of our Fringe artists will have a spare plus one ticket they can “donate” to the door. So come through on the night and we’ll pair you up with a Fringe artist as an impromptu plus one. You don’t have to hang out during the night, but it could be a great chance to make a new friend. (Or if you’re an artist, could be a great chance to find a new audience member for your own show.)
2. How do I reserve a ticket?
There are no reserved tickets! It’s a first come, first served event. But don’t worry about capacity, we’ve got a lovely big venue to fill and we’ll find space for everyone.
3. Do I need to come in costume?
Costumes are highly, highly encouraged and there will be a photo booth. The theme for the night is 90s prom, so crack open the scrunchies, anything velvet, combat boots and slip dresses. We recommend you hit up an op shop for some daggy 90s formal wear.
4. Will there be audience participation?
There will be moments of light audience participation (including singing along to the Trades Hall High School Song), but no pressure to get involved if you don’t want to.
5. Will there be a bar?
Yes! Common Rooms bar will be serving all night. Fringe artists and Hub Club members will have discounted drinks.
6. What happens if I get there after the show starts?
Although we recommend getting there in time for show start so you don’t miss any of the action, sometimes a late arrival is unavoidable. The doors will be open all night and you’re welcome to slot into the audience when you can. Patrons can also come and go from the space as they need.
