How many whales do you see?

I love watching the mums lift their calves to the surface to get them up to breathe. The literal interpretation of the song ‘you raise me up’ 🐋🩷

This pod of swung past today to say hi to the beachgoers who were treated with some finning and big splashes. They were so noisy you could hear them from the sand as they cruised past.

Not bad views for a lunch break. 🐋🌞

This whale was heading north unusually late but put on a show with a few full breaches and some pectoral fin slapping. I have a feeling the return season is only just getting started. Manifesting a super pod heat run for my next find 🐋

These spear fishermen lured this bronze whaler shark in from the other end of the beach today with something they’d caught and put in their bag. It was a harmless interaction - the shark was simply curious and hoping for a snack but just another reason to be cautious when in the water fishing and always keep an eye out. 🦈
