🏆 WINNER | Excellence in Housing Awards 2026
đŸ„ˆ FINALIST | Young Builder of the Year 2026

We’ve always believed that exceptional craftsmanship speaks for itself.

This week, it spoke a little louder.

Opulent Finishes has been crowned Excellence in Housing WINNER đŸ„‡ at the Master Builders Awards, while our Director, Taylor Meyerson, was recognised as a finalist for their prestigious Young Builder of the Year award đŸ„ˆ

Two extraordinary honours. One incredibly proud team.

For us, this recognition represents so much more than one project.

It reflects the passion and genuine enjoyment we bring to our craft.

And, most importantly, the trust our clients place in us to create a home they can love for years to come.

Beautiful homes might be what people see at the end of a project, but behind every detail is an extraordinary group of people making it happen.

Our team.
Our subcontractors.
Our trusted trades.

The people who problem-solve, collaborate and somehow manage to turn Taylor, our director’s, ambitious ideas into reality.

We simply wouldn’t be where we are today without them.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who brought this award-winning project to life, and to the incredible people who continue to pour their skill, passion and pride into Opulent Finishes every day.

This recognition belongs to all of you.

Awards are wonderful.

But having a team you trust, clients who believe in you and people who genuinely love what they do?

That’s something worth celebrating. đŸ„‚đŸ†đŸ„ˆđŸ‘đŸŒ

The pictures of potential đŸ€

Before the restoration.
Before the details are brought back.
Before the home starts to feel like itself again.

These are the before photos from one of our current heritage restoration projects, and there is something particularly exciting about looking back at where a project began when you are already halfway through it.

Because at the beginning, you can see all the potential.

The original details worth protecting.
The areas time has worn away.
The things that have been added, altered or simply lived with for years.
And the opportunity to bring it all together again, thoughtfully.

For us, working on a heritage home is never about making it look new.

It is about understanding what should stay, what needs to be restored, and what can be carefully improved so the home works for the way its owners live today, without losing the character that made them fall in love with it in the first place.

And there is a lot of trust in that.

Our clients are handing us homes they care deeply about, often with decades of history behind them and many more ahead.

Being chosen to restore them is something we take a great deal of pride in, and an equal amount of respect.

We are around halfway through this one now.

A lot has already changed.

And we cannot wait to show you what comes next.

đŸ€ Made for this home.

For this restoration, nothing off the shelf had the proportion, detail or presence the architecture demanded. So the fireplace was designed from the ground up, beginning with a hand-drawn concept and refined alongside our stonemason until every line felt resolved.

Carved from Vagli marble and crafted here in Sydney, the finished piece was never intended to compete with the home.

It was designed to belong to it.

That is the difference between renovation and restoration.

From concept to completion, every decision is made with the original architecture in mind, so the finished work feels less like something new and more like something that was always meant to be there.

Heritage restoration, the Opulent Finishes way.

Enough said. đŸ‘đŸŒ

While we’re heritage builders by trade, our wainscoting installations are proof that craftsmanship is, in itself, an art form.

Sometimes, a big white wall isn’t missing paintings or colour.

Sometimes its missing wall panelling.

The architectural artwork of inlays, designed to transform an ordinary space into something bold, elegant and impossible to ignore.

Every profile.
Every join.
Every detail.

Carefully installed to create a feature that commands attention and ties the entire room together.

Not every home calls for understated.

Some deserve a statement.

If you’re ready to turn blank walls into works of art, we’d love to help.

🔹 Restoring a 1901 Victorian icon.

On Sydney’s North Shore, this remarkable heritage home is entering the first stage of its transformation.

The scaffolding is up.

The roofers are underway.

And alongside them, our team is moving through the restoration carpentry required to keep the entire project progressing.

As sections of the roof are opened, the home begins to reveal what more than 120 years have left behind.

Original timberwork. Ageing structures. Details that need to be repaired, rebuilt or carefully retained.

This is where heritage experience matters.

Our carpenters are working closely with the roofing team, completing each repair and ensuring every new element works seamlessly with the original architecture.

It is detailed. It is highly coordinated.

And it is exactly the type of work we specialise in at Opulent Finishes.

From building and restoration carpentry through to the final decorative finishes, our team understands how to bring every stage together without losing the character that makes a heritage home so special.

This Victorian beauty has an incredible story.

We are proud to be helping shape its next chapter.

Renovating? 🔹 Why not add wainscoting?

The reality is, walls make up more of your home than almost anything else you see.

When they’re plain, the room feels plain.

When they’re detailed, the entire space feels elevated.

That’s the magic of wainscoting.

It adds depth without clutter.

Luxury without being over the top.

It’s the difference between a room that looks finished and a room that feels unforgettable.

At Opulent Finishes, we create custom wainscoting that transforms ordinary spaces into homes people walk into and instantly admire.

The kind of feature that gets noticed.

The kind of detail that adds lasting value.

The kind of finish you’ll wish you had done years ago.

The best builders still love the smallest details.

At Opulent Finishes, we care about the parts most people walk straight past.

Like a door handle.

For our Director, Taylor Meyerson, installing door handles is still one of his favourite finishes.

As an apprentice, he watched his mentor pull up a stool, lay out every component and spend the day installing them with absolute precision.

And that moment stayed with him.

Because great trades don’t just teach you how to build.

They teach you how to care.

Years later, as the Director of Opulent Finishes, Taylor still feels that same pull towards the details.

That’s what Opulent Finishes is built on.

Beautiful spaces, yes.

But more than that?

A deep respect for craftsmanship.

The kind you notice in the way a door closes.

The way a room feels finished.

The way every detail has been thought through.

Because great building isn’t only about the final reveal.

It’s about the care taken long before anyone sees it.

That’s what Opulent Finishes is built on.

Not just beautiful spaces.

But craftsmanship you can feel every time you open a door, walk into a room, or notice a detail that has been done properly.

Because great building is not only about what you see at the end.

It’s about the care taken when no one is watching.

And that’s the standard Taylor and his team bring to every project.
