What if afternoon tea came with a side of secrets?
For well over a century, the Country Women’s Association has been bringing people together in the most unassuming way possible: around tables covered in tea cups, slices, scones and conversation. Community halls, fundraising stalls, kitchen benches, celebrations, crises, recoveries, the CWA has been there for all of it.
So we’re absolutely delighted that the incredible women of the Country Women's Association (CWA) of NSW CWA Coffs Harbour will be catering the Sunday Speakeasy Matinee of Secrets, Lies & Alibis.
Their baking is the stuff locals dream about, but it represents something far greater than a good pastry. It’s a tradition of generosity, friendship and practical support that continues to make a real difference across rural and regional Australia from disaster relief and medical research to domestic violence support and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
On Sunday 23 August, we’ll bring the music, the stories and a little Velvet Curtain mischief.
The CWA will bring the afternoon tea.
And somewhere between the first bite of cake and the final note of the show, we hope you’ll feel that rare kind of magic that happens when people gather together simply to share an experience.
Because sometimes the most memorable afternoons begin with a warm cup of tea… or, if you’re feeling a little more speakeasy, a glass of bubbles. We’re not here to judge 🍾
