A well deserved shout out to our SENiORZ Division yesterday shining bright at the Taree & District Eisteddfod Society Inc 2026 Dance Eisteddfod on the Manning Entertainment Centre stage - once again it was such a joy to witness this unique group of young women (from our accelerated performance experience dance education stream) going from tirelessly training together with their coaches in the studio to all cohesively achieving such wonderful performances and results yesterday.

As a studio we often get called the "small but mighty" and that's okay because that label is never more truer here - we treasure every moment together, we grow together and we succeed together; our connection is real and we wouldn't have it any other way ... it is a true collaboration in every sense of the word, of both our students and our creatives coming together, each one bringing their special gifts to help materialize our visions.

Artistic credit and eternal thanks to our collaborating choreographers for the routines performed - Miss Bec, Miss Layla, Miss Misty, Miss Shelayna and Miss Sophie for their choreographic works of genius.

And a bonus to add to what was already a very successful evening ... these multi-genred superstars receiving the Perpetual Lyn Durrington Memorial Award for cārnivalé: Highest Score Overall for Tap.

DANCE 2026 - DANCE COACHING SCHOLARSHIPS

Nicole Davies from Ignite Dance Coaching was on hand to present 2 dance coaching scholarships, each for 4 weeks of dance classes (valued at $100). The Junior Scholarship (11 years & under) went to Jessica Kime. The senior scholarship went to Amelia Harrison.

Any performer will tell you, getting back to “normal life” is tricky when you are still buzzing from a performance week/weekend and these two from our APE-AIM 14Y & SENiORZ Division: Calamity and Amelia certainly gave it there all over the last couple of days at Grafton Dance Eisteddfod.

Cyclone Calam swooped in and captured everyone’s heart scooping up a swag of bling in the 14Ys and loving being back onstage and Amelia (our quiet grasshopper) flying under the radar ultimately both taking out 1st and 2nd place in their respective Contemporary Championships.

We have been so blessed to have had not only have these two represent cārnivalé but many other wonderful performing students who shared their gifts during Grafton Eisteddfod; thank you to their families who support not only their children but also our vision for them, also thanks to the team of cārnivalé collaborating innovative creators bringing to life our vision – a BIG thanks to Grafton Eisteddfod Dance Committee and their volunteers for hosting once again what is the highlight of the beginning of our performance season.

STAY TUNED ... so excited this year to have lots of aspiring performers (new and returning) waiting in the wings for the next eisteddfod 🙏🏻

With Grafton Eisteddfod Dance Eisteddfod now a wrap – Championships done and all dream duffles heading home ... here’s a shout out to a few from our cārnivalé APE-AIM 12Y Division: Charlotte (a.k.a Cha Cha), Luca (a.k.a McLuca) and Millie (a.k.a Hammer).

Among the endless list of placings for all three (truly a testament to your dedication and all so well rounded in your achievements) ... a special mention goes out to Cha Cha - 2nd place in Junior Ballet Championships, HC in Junior Contemporary Championships and 12Y&U Ballet Aggregate; Hammer - 2nd in Intermediate Jazz Championship.

With all that said, "What did all three enjoy the most?" ... meeting up and dancing with their old eisteddfod buddies they meet (and new ones too) whilst on the road each performance season from local and visiting dance studios.

Congratulations also goes out to your coaches/mentors, each sharing their expertise with every one of you.

With their many different specialist genres from Classical Ballet, Jazz and Tap coaches, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop through to Musical Theatre coaches - cārnivalé is TRULY a collaboration 🙏🏻 of creative minds coming together; there's no other word for it but truly INSPIRATIONAL, watching them all transform these students from studio to stage, cārnivalé APE crew all with a common goal ... to help YOU be the best version of yourself both off and onstage.

WOW our 2026 performance season has certainly had a tremendous start with some of our APE 8 & 10Y and Under students performing throughout the week at Grafton Eisteddfod Dance Eisteddfod.

Students from our immersive APE (Accelerated Performance Experience) Mentoring dance education stream: Billie, Genevieve, Isabella and Keira.

Grafton Eisteddfod provides a wonderful opportunity for students to perform onstage honing their craft, a chance to SHINE BRIGHT and put all of their's and their coaches hard work and training in our cārnivalé studios during our eisteddfod pre-season - out there for all to see.

We have been truly humbled by the words of praise from audience members about our attention to detail (the little things), each student's technical growth and obvious passion and joy for what they do - thank you.

cārnivalé is a specialist dance education centre supporting students with high potential and giftedness.

Students benefit from the studio's flexible education programs that nurture each student to excel in the field of the performance arts while studying in their chosen genre/s in the studio's core skills curriculum; all foundation & commercial dance disciplines are available - classical ballet, tap and jazz, as well as lyrical, hip hop and contemporary.

Specialist instruction and immersive programs focusing on industry readiness provide students will the tools to succeed.

Because of quality controlled class group sizes they have two intakes per year and SEMESTER ONE intake closes this weekend with enrolment applications accepted until Sunday 1st March at 11:59pm.
